Book Description
The Present Edition Is A Revised And Enlarged Edition Of The Earlier Book (Chemical Kinetic Methods, Principles Of Relaxation Techniques And Applications). Four New Chapters, Dealing With The Fast Kinetic Methods, Viz. Flow Methods Pulse Radiolysis, Flash Photolysis And Fluoresence Quenching Method Have Been Added With A View To Bring More Such Methods In One Comprehensive Volume. As These Techniques Do Not Come Under The Category Of Relaxation Methods, The Title Of The Book Has Been Generalised As Chemical Kinetic Methods, Principles Of Fast Reaction Techniques And Applications . Some New Features Of This Book Are (I) The Inclusion Of Worked Out Examples And (Ii) Addition Of More Practice Problems Supplementing The Earlier Ones In All Chapters (Except Chapters I And Xi).It Is Hoped That Both These Features Will Be Welcomed By The Student Community Especially, Postgraduate Students Of Chemistry Who Wish To Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of This Area Of Kinetics. The Addition Of Many Numerical Problems (Worked Out Examples And Practice Problems) Might Also Provide Teachers Of This Subject (Fast Kinetic Methods) As Well As Those Teaching A General Course On Chemical Kinetics With A Wider Choice In Selection Of Problems In Their Academic Work. It Is Fervently Hoped That The Book Will Be Welcomed By The Chemistry Faculty Of Various Universities, I.I.Ts And Other Academic Institutions In The Country As Well As By Other Academicians Who Are Interested In The Area Of Chemical Kinetics.

Book Description
This book gives a concise overview of the mathematical foundations of kinetics used in chemistry and systems biology. The analytical and numerical methods used to solve complex rate equations with the widely used deterministic approach will be described, with primary focus on practical aspects important in designing experimental studies and the evaluation of data. The introduction of personal computers transformed scientific attitudes in the last two decades considerably as computational power ceased to be a limiting factor. Despite this improvement, certain time-honored approximations in solving rate equations such as the pre-equilibrium or the steady-state approach are still valid and necessary as they concern the information content of measured kinetic traces. The book shows the role of these approximations in modern kinetics and will also describe some common misconceptions in this field.

Book Description
This book presents the results of the study in the field of kinetic and numerical simulation of complex (multistep) chemical reactions. Numerical analysis methods of kinetic models of multistep chemical reactions are elucidated. Also the new value method of computerized study of the kinetic models of reaction systems is proposed which is distinguished by calculation simplicity, clearness, interpretability of obtained results in the terms of physics and chemistry, and in a variety of solved tasks. The given method of investigations is based on the Hamiltonian systematization of reaction mechanisms which reveals the value (kinetic significance) of individual steps and species, and, as a result, determination of the rational ways to control chemical reactions. The value of individual steps and species is determined as a ratio of the response of selected characteristic dynamic magnitude of a chemical reaction system in a certain point of time to the small disturbance of the rate of individual step and the rate-of-production of species accumulation in the initial point of time.

Book Description
Advances in Kinetics and Mechanism of Chemical Reactions describes the chemical physics and/or chemistry of ten novel material or chemical systems. These ten novel material or chemical systems are examined in the context of various issues, including structure and bonding, reactivity, transport properties, polymer properties, or biological characteristics. This eclectic survey encompasses a special focus on the associated kinetics, reaction mechanism, or other chemical physics properties of these ten chosen material or chemical systems. The most contemporary chemical physics methods and principles are applied to the characterization of the these ten properties. The coverage is broad, ranging from the study of biopolymers to the analysis of antioxidant and medicinal chemical activity, on the one hand, to the determination of the chemical kinetics of not chemical systems and the characterization of elastic properties of novel nanometer scale material systems on the other. The chemical physics methods used to characterize these ten novel systems are state-of-the-art, and the results should be intriguing to those in the chemistry, physics, and nanoscience fields, include scientists engaged in chemical physics research and the polymer chemistry.

Book Description
This systematic presentation covers both experimental and theoretical kinetic methods, as well as fundamental and applied. The identification of dominant reaction paths, reaction intermediates and rate-determining steps allows a quantification of the effects of reaction conditions and catalyst properties, providing guidelines for catalyst optimization. In addition, the form in which the equations are presented allows for their straightforward implementation for scale-up and chemical reactor design purposes. Throughout, the methodologies given are illustrated by many examples.

Book Description
This book addresses primarily the engineer in industrial process development, the research chemist in academia and industry, and the graduate student intending to become a reaction engineer. In industry, competitive pressures put a premium on scale-up by large factors to cut development time. To be safe, such development should be based on "fundamental" kinetics that reflect the elementary steps of which the reaction consists. The book forges fundamental kinetics into a practical tool by presenting new, effective methods for elucidation of mechanisms and reduction of complexity without unacceptable sacrifice in accuracy: fewer equations (lesser computational load), fewer coefficients (fewer experiment to determine them). For network elucidation, new rules relating network configurations to observable kinetic behaviour allow incorrect networks to be ruled out by whole classes instead of one by one. For modelling, general equations and algorithms are given from which equations for specific networks can be recovered by simple substitutions. The procedures are illustrated with examples of industrial reactions including, among others, paraffin oxidation, ethoxylation, hydroformylation, hydrocyanation, shape-selective catalysis, ethane pyrolysis, styrene polymerization, and ethene oligomerization. Many of the rate equations have not been published before. The expanded edition of the 2001 title, Kinetics of Homogeneous Multistep Reactions includes new chapters on heterogeneous catalysis and periodic and chaotic re-actions; new sections on adsorption, statistical methods, and lumping; and other new detail. Contains new chapters on heterogeneous catalysis, oscillations and chaos Includes new sections on statistical methods, lumping adsorption and software and databases Provides a better understanding of complex reaction mechanisms
