Book Description
With tiny wrinkles and cries, he entered the world, and wrapped in strips of cloth, he took his first nap on a bed of straw. Subject to time and to parents, he grew to manhood, his gentle hands becoming strong and calloused in Joseph’s woodworking shop. As a man, he walked through the countryside and city, touching individuals, preaching to crowds, and training twelve men to carry on His work. Throughout His journey here, He would seek Daily Direction with the Heavenly Father. At every step, he was hounded by those seeking to rid the world of His influence. Jesus continued to stay focused on his purpose. Finally, falsely accused and tried, He was condemned to a disgraceful execution, and He died, spat upon, cursed, pierced by nails, and hung heavenward for all to ridicule and scorn, treated like He was worthless. If there is anyone in the world (and He was in the world) who knows how you feel, it is Jesus. He has walked your walk, He knows your hurt, and He decided to take one more walk for you, and that was straight to the cross. He overcame the world and all its insults and hurts and sin, and now through the Bible, He wants to sit with you and tell you how to stay focused on the promises of the Bible. We all have a purpose in this world, and that is to share the Gospel with others. You need Daily Direction. He knows because He has been there. Jesus would seek Daily Direction throughout his journey here on earth. He approached the Heavenly Father daily, whether it was going off by Himself praying or speaking and encouraging the crowds and pointing them to the Father. It is the author’s hope and prayer that you use the Bible references at the end of each chapter to strengthen your personal relationship with your Heavenly Father as Jesus did. When all is said and done, it is still all about Jesus.

Book Description
I grew up in a family system where there were a lot of abusive family members. The ones who were not abusive didn't seem to be able to remove themselves or the children from the harmful behavior in our lives. As a child I was extremely nervous and felt a lot of shame. I witnessed a lot of horrible things and was extremely abused myself. I saw how alcoholism enabled certain family members to either act very inappropriately when under the influence or become extremely violent. I saw how alcohol was used to medicate other family members. Some of my family members died rather young I feel due a very stressful life. I began to notice my siblings and my cousins participate in destructive relationships and/or abuse substances. My relationships with them were not healthy ones. I tried for years to find ways to improve my relationships with them but nothing ever worked no matter how hard I tried. This book is about my experiences with family and other unhealthy relationships in my life. How it all affected me from childhood and into adulthood. The steps I had to take to improve my life. I now believe I can have the love and respect I want from others in my life as long as I love and care for myself. I hope my story will help others who have had similar experiences. I have no desire to drink alcohol anymore or to associate with people who abuse it, are abusive, controlling and who cannot be accountable for their behavior. We all deserve to heal and have good relationships in our lives.

Book Description
In this New York Times bestseller, one of America’s premier physicians offers a must-read account of the new challenges facing parents today and a program for how we can better prepare our children to navigate the obstacles they face In The Collapse of Parenting, internationally acclaimed author Leonard Sax argues that rising levels of obesity, depression, and anxiety among young people can be traced to parents abdicating their authority. The result is children who have no standard of right and wrong, who lack discipline, and who look to their peers and the Internet for direction. Sax shows how parents must reassert their authority - by limiting time with screens, by encouraging better habits at the dinner table, and by teaching humility and perspective - to renew their relationships with their children. Drawing on nearly thirty years of experience as a family physician and psychologist, along with hundreds of interviews with children, parents, and teachers, Sax offers a blueprint parents can use to help their children thrive in an increasingly complicated world.

Book Description
A father¿s presence is important in a daughter¿s life. He is the first man a little girl sees and knows. He demonstrates how men relate to women. But what happens when the father-daughter relationship is dysfunctional? Daddy answers that question. Included are fourteen memoirs that describe the impact a failed father-daughter relationship can have. These women share essays and narratives that detail various stages of breakdown. Whether an event occurred in childhood, adolescence, or adulthood, each story explains how their father¿s physical, emotional, or psychological abandonment has affected them. The book is separated into two parts. Part I shows the proverbial truth in the phrase, hurt people hurt people. While some stories confirm why or how men mistreat their daughters, others show how daughters sometimes internalize neglect and continue the cycle either with the relationship they have with themselves, or others. Part II illustrates how compassion can lead towards a path of inner peace and happiness, no matter the state of the relationship.
