Book Description
This book explains the effects of war and armed conflict on individual children and their family system, and how culturally responsive social work practice should take into account the diversity and heterogeneity of their needs and lived experiences. Unpacking social work practice with children and families affected by war and migration, the volume provides a valuable toolkit for practitioners, educators, researchers, and service-providers that work with war-affected populations around the globe. The contributions suggest that fostering a family approach, allotting careful attention to context and culture, and linking the arts and participation with social work practice, can all be vital to enhancing the research, education, and practice around working with children and families affected by armed conflict. Providing a critical reflection of social work education and practice, this book will be of interest to practitioners in the field of social work, as well as researchers studying the social effects of migration. This book was originally published as a special issue of the Journal of Family Social Work.

Book Description
The fourth novel in Peter Clines' bestselling Ex series. When he’s awake, George Bailey is just an ordinary man. Five days a week he coaxes his old Hyundai to life, curses the Los Angeles traffic, and clocks in at his job as a handyman at the local college. But when he sleeps, George dreams of something more. George dreams of flying. He dreams of fighting monsters. He dreams of a man made of pure lightning, an armored robot, a giant in an army uniform, a beautiful woman who moves like a ninja. Then one day as he’s walking from one fix-it job to the next, a pale girl in a wheelchair tells George of another world, one in which civilization fell to a plague that animates the dead…and in which George is no longer a glorified janitor, but one of humanity’s last heroes. Her tale sounds like madness, of course. But as George’s dreams and his waking life begin bleeding together, he starts to wonder—which is the real world, and which is just fantasy?

Book Description
This book is written in times in my life when I went through separation and divorce and how I battled with mental illness. It is about the gamut of emotions I’ve experienced and how the Lord has brought me peace and healing through forgiveness of myself and my forgiveness of others. It is a book about Restoration. I believe that the poems and songs contained in this book can be used as a tool to bring healing and wholeness to others who may have suffered similar experiences which are often compounded by stressful life events. I feel that this book can be an inspiration for others to reach out Jesus Christ for the healing that we all seek. This book is about how God came into my life after I sought him and asked him to become the spiritual authority and guide in my life. As God began to reveal his principles for living and I began to diligently seek answers to some of life’s questions, he revealed the redemptive power of his saving grace; and he has begun to bring about the emotional healing and restoration of peace I believe we all seek.

Book Description
I wrote the first version of this book a month after Kenneth passed away. We were blaming ourselves for not following up on his sister's intuition. She had been his voice since they were born. I was mad at the world. I couldn't bring our Kenneth back. I knew it was a sign of depression. I encouraged the kids to seek help. I didn't feel like I needed help. I decided to write this book and lashed out at the world. As soon I finished the book, I felt so much better. I thought that I miraculously got healed. The devil is a liar. I sent Be the Head to two publishers, but they denied it. I was not even told a reason. When my cooking book was done, I sent it to both publishers; it was accepted right away. As a spiritual being, I practice meditation as soon as I finish my prayers. I heard a voice say, "Everyone who will read the book will know that it was made for a good cause, but they will also be able to tell that you were angry at the world when you wrote it. Rewrite it now. You will know and feel the difference. Being mean and bitter isn't who you are. Your dad raised you better. Your other books; Kenneth's Creole Cajun Creative Kitchen Recipes, and As Reality Strikes don't portray you as such. Why would you want Be the Head to give people the wrong impression of you? Instead, make it a tool that will help others." I obeyed the call. My spirit guide never fails me. This book will help raise awareness for the need to report abuse of any shape or form right away and a way for everyone to get CPR certification by making it a must. Seek help for yourself. Recognize the early stages of depression, seek help for yourself if needed; then get help for someone you love. Share good information to improve the lives of other people. Together we can make this world a better place. Remain blessed.
