The yield of honey per colony was pounds, nearly 18 pounds per colony higher than the pounds average per colony in 1968. Production of beeswax in 1969 totaled pounds, up 38 percent from 1968. In mid-december, producers reported 67 million pounds of honey on hand for sale compared with 43 million pounds a year ago. Stocks in mid-december represented 24 percent of the 1969 honey production, compared with 21 percent in 1968. In 1969 season was very favorable with good weather conditions and nectar supplies in nearly all States. Production in California and Minnesota was more than double their 1968 cr0p.
