We have built our story around the focal 'sites' of the transport history of Greater Eccles namely; 1) Eccles Railway Station, 2) Liverpool to Manchester Railway, 3) M602 Motorway, 4) Eccles Metro Terminus, 5) A57, 6) Manchester Ship Canal, 7) Barton Swing Bridge Road, 8) Barton Swing Bridge Canal, 9) Bridgewater Canal, 10) Patricroft Railway Station, 11) The Queens Arms, 12) Barton Aerodrome, 13) Port Salford and 14) Runway 26.Interweaved are the stories of the TEN 'geographies' of Greater Eccles namely Cadishead, Irlam, Peel Green, Patricroft, Winton, Worsley, Monton, Ellesmere Park, Eccles and Barton.
