This book is made up of photographs taken between 2015 and 2018 by the author / photographer's efforts of documenting architecture in the restored colonial area within the City of Williamsburg, Virginia. During this period, the photos may actually show small differences between the years as the non-profit foundation updated, improved, and added to the beautiful tourist setting. After dozens of trips to the City of Williamsburg, Virginia over decades, and untold numbers of visits to the restored area of the original colonial city, the collection grew to thousands of photos. The difference between these photographs and other photography of the area is these were taken specifically at certain artistic angles and viewpoints that would aesthetically enhance the view of the building or allow the artist to see details of the exteriors or interiors. The photographer's main purpose was to use the photographs as a basis for sketches and drawings for fine art illustrations and pen and ink drawings. Thus the photographs in this book showcase angles and views which the normal tourist or photographer may not have considered. The photographer used a Canon Rebel DSL 35mm camera set on automatic exposure and focus. These photo resources are excellent guides which artists are allowed to use as a basis for their own fine art illustrations of the beautiful restored buildings, streets, and venues.
