Book Description
"This study was done at the request of Mr. Gene Hinkle, owner of Tract B, Lands of Melchor. The objective was to address water availability on approximately 25 acres of land located in Section 26, T10N, R4E. The study includes consideration of results of well drilling, an initial step test, lithologic and well completion logs and diagram, two pump tests, and a drawdown analysis of the proposed well configuration using a geohydrologic finite-difference computer program. The scenario shows the total pumping effects of four wells distributed near the north end of the 25 acres of land, with each well pumping approximately 2000 gallons/day (400 gpd/household) for a 100-year period and the effect that pumping would have on the Sandia Granite Aquifer at the proposed location. The study shows that over a 100-year pumping period for the collective well system, the groundwater requirement created by the proposed subdivision should not affect the maximum drawdown point at any well by more than 5.0 feet in a 100-year period. This study is a revision to a report done by Dames & Moore but managed by Dan Cravens. RE/SPEC has redone the finite difference analysis to fulfill the needs of the subdivision and reverified the conclusions."--Executive summary, p. 1.
