Guidelines developed by industry and the agencies that jointly have direct control over integrated resource management in coastal watersheds to provide a common basis for applying principles to assist the agencies in achieving their objectives, which are sometimes competitive and conflicting. The guidelines contain a statement of principles; definitions of the 4 classes of stream reach and associated fish habitat management objectives; a field guide summarizing the major guidelines for all aspects of forestry operations to protect fish habitats in accordance with stream reach class objectives; a reference guide presenting detail and examples; a glossary of terms; and special technical information and approved regulatory procedures established by government agencies. The guidelines are to be used for 2 years, then evaluated, refined and adjusted as required.
