Daniel J. Miller, of Middlebury, Indiana, was born 8 April 1836 at Somerset Co., Pa. He married Barbara Bontrager, daughter of John and Anna Yoder Bontrager. Barbara was born 3 Nov. 1837 in Somerset Co., Pennsylvania and died 4 April 1886. Daniel " ... was ordained to the Ministry June 3, 1866. He d. in Ia. Dec. 18, 1908."--P. 4. Both are descendants of " Martin Bontrager [who] was born in Switzerland and came across the ocean on a ship named Sally from Rotterdam and arrived at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Oct. 5, 1757 with three sons. ... Martin with his three sons settled down in Somerset Co., Pa., near Meyersdale."--P. 1. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Indiana, North Dakota, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri, Iowa and elsewhere.

Johannes Ramseyer was born 3 April 1780 in Mancenans, France. His parents were Isaak Ramseyer and Anna Augsburger. He married Barbara Kaufman (1780-1844) 30 May 1800 in Alsace, France. They had ten children. They emigrated in 1834 and settled in Ohio. He died 4 July 1853. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Kansas.
