A few types of glasses over a range of composition have been synthesised namely PbO-B2O3, PbCl2-PbO-B2O3, PbO-P2O5, PbCl2-PbO-P2O5, Ag2O-P2O5, Agl-Ag2O-2B2O3 and Ag2O-2B2O3. The elastic properties (bulk modulus, Young modulus, Poisson ratio, etc.) of glasses in the lead phosphate, lead borate and silver phosphate have been measured. The ionic conductivity measurements are also done on the silver phosphate and silver borate glasses. The silver-containing glasses which are fact conducting glasses exhibit high ionic conductivity.
