Book Description
This book discusses various aspects of percolation mechanics. It starts with the driving forces and driving modes and then examines in detail the steady state percolation of single-phase incompressible fluids, percolation law of natural gas and percolation of non-Newtonian fluids. Progressing from simple to complex concepts, it also analyzes Darcy’s law, providing a basis for the study of reservoir engineering, oil recovery engineering and reservoir numerical simulation. It serves as a textbook for undergraduate students majoring in petroleum engineering, petroleum geology and groundwater engineering, and offers a valuable reference guide for graduate students, researchers and technical engineers engaged in oil and gas exploration and development.

Book Description
Gas reservoir engineering is the branch of reservoir engineering that deals exclusively with reservoirs of non-associated gas. The prime purpose of reservoir engineering is the formulation of development and production plans that will result in maximum recovery for a given set of economic, environmental and technical constraints. This is not a one-time activity but needs continual updating throughout the production life of a reservoir. The objective of this book is to bring together the fundamentals of gas reservoir engineering in a coherent and systematic manner. It is intended both for students who are new to the subject and practitioners, who may use this book as a reference and refresher. Each chapter can be read independently of the others and includes several, completely worked exercises. These exercises are an integral part of the book; they not only illustrate the theory but also show how to apply the theory to practical problems. Chapters 2, 3 and 4 are concerned with the basic physical properties of reservoirs and natural gas fluids, insofar as of relevance to gas reservoir engineering. Chapter 5 deals with the volumetric estimation of hydrocarbon fluids in-place and the recoverable hydrocarbon reserves of gas reservoirs. Chapter 6 presents the material balance method, a classic method for the analysis of reservoir performance based on the Law of Conservation of Mass. Chapters 7-10 discuss various aspects of the flow of natural gas in the reservoir and the wellbore: single phase flow in porous and permeable media; gaswell testing methods based on single-phase flow principles; the mechanics of gas flow in the wellbore; the problem of water coning, the production of water along with the gas in gas reservoirs with underlaying bottom water. Chapter 11 discusses natural depletion, the common development option for dry and wet gas reservoirs. The development of gas-condensate reservoirs by gas injection is treated in Chapter 12. Appendix A lists the commonly used units in gas reservoir engineering, along with their conversion factors. Appendix B includes some special physical and mathematical constants that are of particular interest in gas reservoir engineering. Finally, Appendix C contains the physical properties of some common natural-gas components.

Book Description
This book is exploitation technology oriented and it covers both theory and practice with respect to petroleum reservoirs. Both English language and Russian professional literature are analyzed and elaborated considering interparticle and dual porosity reservoirs. The book consists of four parts. Part I deals with geological principles for recovery processes; Part II deals with classical recovery processes focusing on planning and analysis of technologies; Part III looks at enhanced recovery methods of oil and gas; and Part IV includes different topics necessary for reservoir engineering planning and analysis. A number of examples and practical data are presented which are relevant to technology and recovery efficiency. The book is recommended for students; geologists; reservoir and production engineers who are engaged with crude oil, natural gas, and water production from structures that are located underground; and even for those specialists who deal with gas storage in porous rocks

Book Description
Whether as a textbook for the petroleum engineering student or areference for the veteran engineer working in the field, this newvolume is a valuable asset in the engineer’s library for new, tested methods of more efficient oil and gas exploration andproduction and better estimating methods. In this book, theauthors combine a rigorous, yet easy to understand, approach topetrophysics and how it is applied to petroleum and environmentalengineering to solve multiple problems that the engineer orgeologist faces every day. Useful in the prediction ofeverything from crude oil composition, pore size distribution inreservoir rocks, groundwater contamination, and other types offorecasting, this approach provides engineers and students alikewith a convenient guide to many real-world applications. Fluid dynamics is an extremely important part of the extractionprocess, and petroleum geologists and engineers must have a workingknowledge of fluid dynamics of oil and gas reservoirs in order tofind them and devise the best plan for extraction, before drillingcan begin. This book offers the engineer and geologist afundamental guide for accomplishing these goals, providingmuch-needed calculations and formulas on fluid flow, rockproperties, and many other topics that are encountered everyday. The approach taken in Fluid Dynamics of Oil and GasReservoirs is unique and has not been addressed until now in abook format. Readers now have the ability to review some of themost well-known fields in the world, from the USA to Russiaand Asia. Useful for the veteran engineer or scientist and the studentalike, this book is a must-have for any geologist, engineer, orstudent working in the field of upstream petroleum engineering.
