Book Description
Robyn O'Neil: 20 Years of Drawings, is the first major monograph published of the artist's work and offers a brilliantly detailed look at the foundation laid by her earliest drawings, the evolution of her hand and the epic works that have defined her career. This collection of over 100 images is accompanied with an essay by curator Alison de Lima Greene who offers extraordinary insight into both the artist's life and work. "O'Neil enlarges both the physical scale of her work, and the internal dynamics of her drawing by pitting her increasingly small figures against a vast panorama. At the same time, she plays with Western perspectival conventions, using empty expanses of paper to stack space in the manner of Chinese scroll paintings. Each area of the landscape is punctuated by vignettes, ranging from two figures standing before a dead deer to vast assemblies. That this is ultimately a battle of man against man, rather than man against nature, is hinted at by the squadron of World War II bomber planes that sweep down from the central mountain gap."

Book Description
"In this study of the Japanese jeweled pagoda mandalas, Halle O’Neal reveals the entangled realms of sacred body, beauty, and salvation. Much of the previous scholarship on these paintings concentrates on formal analysis and iconographic study of their narrative vignettes. This has marginalized the intriguing interplay of text and image at their heart, precluding a holistic understanding of the mandalas and diluting their full import in Buddhist visual culture. Word Embodied offers an alternative methodology, developing interdisciplinary insights into the social, religious, and artistic implications of this provocative entwining of word and image.O’Neal unpacks the paintings’ revolutionary use of text as picture to show how this visual conflation mirrors important conceptual indivisibilities in medieval Japan. The textual pagoda projects the complex constellation of relics, reliquaries, scripture, and body in religious doctrine, practice, and art. Word Embodied also expands our thinking about the demands of viewing, recasting the audience as active producers of meaning and offering a novel perspective on disciplinary discussions of word and image that often presuppose an ontological divide between them. This examination of the jeweled pagoda mandalas, therefore, recovers crucial dynamics underlying Japanese Buddhist art, including invisibility, performative viewing, and the spectacular visualizations of embodiment."

Book Description
"Nancy and Tom O'Neil have lived in Baltimore since 1982, collecting art all the while and focusing on the photography of our times since the late 1990s. In 2013, the O'Neil's gave a group of 24 works by 19 artists to The Baltimore Museum of Art. Their gift has substantially grown the Museum's late 20th- and early 21st-century holdings, strenthening the array of photographic approaches and images of our world that the Museum can share with the Baltimore community, as well as its audiences of national, international, and virtual visitors. They followed their BMA gift with an equally significant donation of related works to the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College, Tom O'Neil's alma mater, laying the groundwork for exciting future collaborations between the two institutions. Additionally in 2014, the O'Neil's established the O'Neil Family Contemporary Photography fund to support the BMA's efforts in programming, conservation, and acquisition initiaties around recent photography."--[Page 1]

Book Description
When Olivia Shaw's mother dies, the sophisticated food editor is astonished to learn she's inherited a centuries-old English estate--and a title to go with it. Raw with grief and reeling from the knowledge that her reserved mother hid something so momentous, Olivia leaves San Francisco and crosses the pond to unravel the mystery of a lifetime. One glance at the breathtaking Rosemere Priory and Olivia understands why the manor, magnificent even in disrepair, was the subject of her mother's exquisite paintings. What she doesn't understand is why her mother never mentioned it to her. As Olivia begins digging into her mother's past, she discovers that the peeling wallpaper, debris-laden halls, and ceiling-high Elizabethan windows covered in lush green vines hide unimaginable secrets. Although personal problems and her life back home beckon, Olivia finds herself falling for the charming English village and its residents. But before she can decide what Rosemere's and her own future hold, Olivia must first untangle the secrets of her past.
