Development of a Performance Appraisal Method Based on the Duty Module Concept

Pages : 45
Book Description
Duty modules applicable to the 30 entry-level specialty fields of the Officer Personnel Management System (OPMS) were analyzed to determine the job performance dimensions underlying them. Eight performance dimensions were thus defined and their applicability to 128 entry-level officer positions was shown. The eight job performance dimensions were incorporated in the Job Proficiency Appraisal Form (JPAF), an experimental form which assesses a ratee's level of performance on each dimension both upon entry into a job and at some later time in order to partially control for changes in performance as a function of experience. The JPAF allows ratings to be made by the immediate supervisor, another supervisor familiar with the ratee's work, and one or more of the ratee's associated. (Author).
