Book Description
Credence, Texas, is a one-horse town. Dying on its feet since the closure of the Shawnee Trail, the place is divided by bitterness, resentment and feuds that have smouldered on for years. This is what Johnny Hartford finds when he returns home for his brother's wedding. Ten years before, he left the town in a blaze of glory to travel to Chicago to become a Pinkerton Agent. But that was before the war. Now everything has changed: his dying father will barely speak to him, his brother is running wild and longhorn rustling is rife. Determined to make amends with his family and catch the cattle thieves, Hartford turns to old Sheriff Milton for help. But the day after he arrives, a prominent local rancher is shot in the back and Hartford discovers that almost everyone in the town has a reason for wanting him dead.

Book Description
Texas royalty doesn’t stand a chance against the blood brothers in a lawless Western adventure from the bestselling author of San Angelo Showdown. Young Matt Bodine and Sam Two Wolves became blood brothers on the day the rancher’s son saved the warrior’s life, forging a bond no one could ever break. As years passed, a legend grew of the Cheyenne and the white man who rode together—and who could jerk killing iron with the best of them . . . Death in Snake Creek Snake Creek is a shabby little Texas town ruled by a mean-tempered outlaw who fancies himself a king—King Petty. He and his gang do what they want, when they want, and right now what Petty wants is the pretty wife of a farmer he just shot in cold blood. But Sam Two Wolves just can’t stand by and watch as this King Petty drags the widow down the street, and before long he and Matt find themselves in the fight of their lives. It’s a fight they never meant to start—but they sure as hell are going to finish it. Praise for the novels of William W. Johnstone “[A] rousing, two-fisted saga of the growing American frontier.”—Publishers Weekly on Eyes of Eagles “There’s plenty of gunplay and fast-paced action as this old-time hero proves again that a steady eye and quick reflexes are the keys to survival on the Western frontier.”—Curled Up with a Good Book on Dead Before Sundown

Book Description
Being known as the fastest gun in the west, and killing his fair share of men in the process, makes Wild Bill Hickok a constant target for his enemies seeking revenge. So, when he rides into the town of Deadwood Gulch in the Dakota Territory, he always has to keep an eye on his back. Like many people in the late 1800s, Bill has set out to make his fortune in the gold rush, and Deadwood is bustling with gold miners, saloons, and brothels. When Bill fails to stake a claim on the river for gold panning, he resorts to his first love in order to make some quick cash: poker. With his good friends Calamity Jane and Charlie Utter keeping him company, the former lawman finds himself winning at the tables, and keeping the saloons in business with his love of whiskey. Wild Bill is trying to save enough money to provide a good life for him and his wife for years to come, but his enemies have other ideas. The Dead Man’s Hand: A Moment in Time is the fascinating second book in Katheryn Shelly’s Past Life Journey series.

Book Description
This book is a continuation of an effort began in 2015 by a handful of individuals with an interest in the history of the German settlements at Cat Spring and Millheim in Austin County, Texas. Three of the early literary works by Millheim settlers have been republished — Experiences and Observations and A History of Austin County by William Andreas Trenckmann, and A Boy’s Civil War Story by Charles Nagel. Obscure books, newspaper and periodical articles, literary novels and plays written about the area by former residents a century or so ago have been identified. An inventory of all such documents and their current status as to public availability has been developed. This book presents a brief history of the extended Cat Spring–Millheim community in western Austin County, along with reproductions of several articles written by early area pioneers such as Robert Kleberg, Rosa von Roeder Kleberg, Caroline Ernst von Hineuber, Adalbert Regenbrecht and Ottilie Fuchs Goeth. We provide brief biographies of many of the early settlers including Elemenech Swearingen, Ludwig von Roeder, Robert Kleberg, Carl Amsler, Friedrich Engelking, Andreas Trenckmann, Robert Kloss, Gustav Maetze, Dr. Herman Nagel, Adalbert Regenbrecht, Rev. Arnost Bergmann and Louis Constant. Also summarized are the significant literary works created by early settlers in the area, including William Andreas Trenckmann, Charles Nagel, Johannes Christlieb Nathanael Romberg and Adolph Fuchs. Several of these long out-of-print works are reproduced herein.
