When an Earth-shattering secret has two legs, a big mouth, and a blinkered determination to get home by any means necessary, it’s up to Daisy and Aidan to stop it happening… by any means necessary! “One of the best cozy mystery series I’ve ever read!” Come and meet our feisty R.E.D. heroine, and find out why she’s such a hit with readers! From feeling like they were back in the eighteenth century, Daisy and Aidan are thrust very much into the twenty-first century. Answering a desperate call for help, they find themselves embroiled in a crazy chase across the county to stop a secret going public that must never hit the front pages. This time the puzzle is the whereabouts of a missing scarecrow, and the question of just how he intends getting ‘home’. Our story is different in another, but just as scary a way too. Our intrepid heroes are separated, and neither knows where the other is. For Aidan, an encounter with an old friend proves frighteningly enlightening, while Daisy discovers evidence he could well be in mortal danger, and there isn’t a lot of time to save his life… or the situation. Neither of them realise the secret they’re chasing is hardly the secret they thought it was. As an ever-increasing number of friends and enemies join the battle for the same pot of gold, the yellow brick road starts to look more like a four-lane highway, and the end of the rainbow seems to be ever further away. Who will be the first to make Emerald City in one piece? With the spoils just out of sight over the horizon, that’s anyone’s guess! ‘The Terrifying Tale of the Homesick Scarecrow’ is the fifth book in the hilarious Daisy series, and like the others, is not exactly what you might expect! Check out the whole series, and everything else we create, on the r t green website. And enjoy!

Book Description
The Deep Sea Diver Daisy is a mermaid who loves exploring shipwrecks and historical sites. Dive deep into the water with her. Summary Daisy, a mermaid who can't get enough of excitement, lives in the deep, shimmering ocean, where the waves tell her stories about the past. Her heart is racing with excitement at the thought of finding old ships and historical sites. People who read "The Deep Sea Diver" will go on a trip that will forever change Daisy and the water she lives in. It's a world under the sea full of secrets and surprises. Daisy's trip starts when she discovers a strange map buried in the ribs of an old shipwreck. This map, which has been worn down by time and currents, shows where an underground city is that is secret and only fish talk about. Daisy sets out with excitement in her heart and a plan to help her. She has no idea of the wonders and dangers that lie ahead. On the trip, Daisy meets Dolly, a friendly dolphin who knows how to behave in the water. Daisy learns from Dolly that the trip isn't just about the places we see, but what we meet along the way. Dolly is both a teacher and a dear friend. They look at a lot of different underwater sights, from beautiful fields of jellyfish to the hauntingly beautiful wrecks of ships that have sunk. Each one has its own story to tell. Along the way, they meet an old turtle named Theo who teaches them about the ocean's delicate balance and how important it is to keep its resources safe. Daisy learns this the hard way, especially when she has to deal with the tricks and puzzles of the secret city and the dark, deep cave. While being cared for by Finley, an ancient fish, Daisy learns ancient secrets about how to protect the ocean and its species. These secrets are much more valuable than gold or gems. Daisy's growth can be seen on her trip back. She comes back determined to teach others what she has learned, both as an explorer and as an ocean guardian. The sea creatures are glad to see Daisy and Dolly again. They value her bravery and knowledge and have joined forces to protect their underwater home. "The Deep Sea Diver" is a story about friendship, excitement, and how curiosity can take you anywhere. Young readers learn the importance of friendship and bravery, as well as how important it is for all of us to protect the world's natural resources. This story about Daisy shows us that the lessons we learn and the people we meet along the way are often more important than the things we seek. Chapter 1: Daisy's World In the middle of the ocean, where the sun's loving touch makes the water dance with blue and green colors, there is a world that is so full of life and color that it seems almost magical. Daisy lives in a beautiful coral reef in the middle of the ocean. The reef is full of color and life. Daisy, a fish, lives in this beautiful place. That woman is beautiful. Her long, flowing hair changes colors like the ocean, from bright turquoise in the tropics to deep blue at midnight. Her tail is covered in scales that shine like gems under the water and make it easy for her to swim around her underwater home. Daisy's eyes are wide and shocked, and they sparkle with a thousand questions that haven't been answered yet. The coral house she lives in is beautiful, but she doesn't want to stay inside. Instead, her goal is to explore uncharted territory, like the huge area of deep sea beyond her home. She feels like the ocean is calling her to learn more about it and be amazed by its beauty. Daisy imagines herself discovering underwater city ruins that have been forgotten for a long time and swimming among old shipwrecks where the cold, salt water has kept the wood frames in good shape. Her heart beats fast when she thinks about the riches that might be hidden in these places. Maybe there are beautiful diamonds from pirate treasure or items from civilizations long ago buried under the water. Daisy's thoughts are always creative. She sees herself swimming across the water, her sharp eyes on the ground for clues and paths that lead to riches she doesn't know about. She wants to see every part of the huge ocean because she loves the thrill of finding new things. However, Daisy's world has more chances for adventures. Everything that lives here has a story to tell, from the tiny fish racing through the coral to the huge whales singing sad songs deep in the ocean. Daisy loves listening to the old sea turtles tell stories about when the ocean was very different from now. Their words are full of life-wise advice. She is amazed by how complicated the jellyfish's dances are and how their clear bodies shine in the dark water like magic. Daisy is deeply grateful for the life that the water provides, and her love for it goes beyond her desire for excitement. As she goes on her trips, she knows that the coral reef, with its many colors and shapes, is a live, breathing habitat that is home to many different kinds of animals. Daisy wants to keep this underwater paradise safe because she sees herself as its guardian. Even though coral seems to be very beautiful, she knows how fragile it is and wants to find ways to protect it for future generations. Daisy promised the ocean in her heart that she would respect and be amazed by its depths, keep its secrets safe, and protect its wealth. Her bravery and lack of fear, along with her kindness and intelligence, show the magic that lies beneath the ocean's surface. In Daisy's world, the ocean is a big, living thing that welcomes brave souls who are willing to explore its depths with open minds and hearts. It also serves as a warning of how all living things are linked. Daisy lives in a world where there are a million different things that can happen and is full of wonder. Every wave tells a story and every splash makes a sound. In the middle of the ocean, there is not only a healthy coral reef, but also a doorway to adventure. This is the spot where travel and finding dreams come true. Daisy is the magic that lives in the depths of the ocean. She is a lighthouse in the darkness of the ocean, calling us all to dive below the surface and discover the wonders that lie beneath. She is naturally curious and likes to try new things. Chapter 2: The Mysterious Chart Daisy, who loves to explore, found an old shipwreck on the sandy ocean floor, half-buried and abandoned. This happened during one of her normal investigations on a normal day. This shipwreck wasn't like any other; it was a ghost ship from a long time ago that had sailed the great seas above. The years have worn down and weathered its wood, telling stories of adventures that have yet to be found and riches that have been lost to time. Daisy's eyes, which were full of wonder and curiosity, looked around the dark room and saw something that didn't look right. A strange chart was hidden in a corner, out of reach of fish and the strong waves. Daisy had never seen a map like this before. It was made of a material that had, for some reason, stood the test of time. The ends were frayed and worn, showing that time had passed. The shape of an underwater metropolis could still be seen in the faded but still clear ink. Daisy had never met any fish, mermaids, or other aquatic animals that had been to this city. There were patterns and symbols all over this city that looked like beautiful buildings and tall towers tucked away by the blue sea. Daisy felt a level of excitement she had never felt before when she thought about that place, where time had stopped and no one could see it. Our young mermaid explorer felt like the map was more than just a piece of paper. It talked about a land that time seemed to have forgotten, a past that no one knew, and dark secrets. Daisy knew that this map was different because it had secrets buried in the sand and waves. It was exciting to think that she might find this hidden city and go somewhere (or swim) that no one had been in thousands of years. Daisy saw the map and knew this trip would not be easy. Along the way to the underwater city, there were signs that warned of risks and obstacles that were coming. There were places marked with symbols that made it look like mysterious guardians were watching over the passage, as well as narrow paths that wound through dark caves and huge gaps that had to be passed. She might have been scared or nervous, but the thought of finding something new and learning more about the river's past made those feelings less important. Daisy was ready to go on a trip and was determined to follow the map and find out what it meant. She knew that she would need all of her bravery and creativity for the journey ahead. The map became her most valuable thing because it held so many mysterious secrets and old, misspelled words. There was a puzzle that begged to be solved and a mystery that called her in. Daisy looked at the map every night, when bioluminescent plants gave it a soft glow, trying to figure out what the symbols meant and plan her route. There were secrets she didn't know about, stories about the people who lived there, and treasures she thought were hidden. Daisy used this plan to start a new part of her life and get to a certain place. It stood for the unknown and the chance of finding something truly amazing buried deep below the waves. Daisy loved the idea of standing (or flying) among the ruins of the underwater city and experiencing its history and beauty for herself. She saw herself as a link between the past and the present who could bring the story of the underwater city to the world above.

Book Description
Soon after film came into existence, the term epic was used to describe productions that were lengthy, spectacular, live with action, and often filmed in exotic locales with large casts and staggering budgets. The effort and extravagance needed to mount an epic film paid off handsomely at the box office, for the genre became an immediate favorite with audiences. Epic films survived the tribulations of two world wars and the Depression and have retained the basic characteristics of size and glamour for more than a hundred years. Length was, and still is, one of the traits of the epic, though monolithic three- to four-hour spectacles like Gone with the Wind (1939) and Lawrence of Arabia (1962) have been replaced today by such franchises as the Harry Potter films and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Although the form has evolved during many decades of existence, its central elements have been retained, refined, and modernized to suit the tastes of every new generation. The Encyclopedia of Epic Films identifies, describes, and analyzes those films that meet the criteria of the epic—sweeping drama, panoramic landscapes, lengthy adventure sequences, and, in many cases, casts of thousands. This volume looks at the wide variety of epics produced over the last century—from the silent spectacles of D. W. Griffith and biblical melodramas of Cecil B. DeMille to the historical dramas of David Lean and rollercoaster thrillers of Steven Spielberg. Each entry contains: Major personnel behind the camera, including directors and screenwriters Cast and character listings Plot summary Analysis Academy Award wins and nominations DVD and Blu-ray availability Resources for further study This volume also includes appendixes of foreign epics, superhero spectaculars, and epics produced for television, along with a list of all the directors in the book. Despite a lack of overall critical recognition and respect as a genre, the epic remains a favorite of audiences, and this book pays homage to a form of mass entertainment that continues to fill movie theaters. The Encyclopedia of Epic Films will be of interest to academics and scholars, as well as any fan of films made on a grand scale.

Book Description
Daisy Bates (1914–1999) is renowned as the mentor of the Little Rock Nine, the first African Americans to attend Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. For guiding the Nine through one of the most tumultuous civil rights crises of the 1950s, she was selected as Woman of the Year in Education by the Associated Press in 1957 and was the only woman invited to speak at the Lincoln Memorial ceremony in the March on Washington in 1963. But her importance as a historical figure has been overlooked by scholars of the civil rights movement. Daisy Bates: Civil Rights Crusader from Arkansas chronicles her life and political advocacy before, during, and well after the Central High School crisis. An orphan from the Arkansas mill town of Huttig, she eventually rose to the zenith of civil rights action. In 1952, she was elected president of the NAACP in Arkansas and traveled the country speaking on political issues. During the 1960s, she worked as a field organizer for presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson to get out the black vote. Even after a series of strokes, she continued to orchestrate self-help and economic initiatives in Arkansas. Using interviews, archival records, contemporary newspaper accounts, and other materials, author Grif Stockley reconstructs Bates's life and career, revealing her to be a complex, contrary leader of the civil rights movement. Ultimately, Daisy Bates paints a vivid portrait of an ardent, overlooked advocate of social justice.
