L'introduction des techniques d'intelligence artificielle a permis de faire évoluer les systèmes de C.A.O. vers des systèmes plus performants. Des domaines comme la construction mécanique en général et les méthodes d'assemblage en particulier ont largement bénéficié de ces techniques. Pourtant, les systèmes proposés se basent le plus souvent sur une approche système expert dont l'objectif est de fournir des méthodes générales de construction ou d'assemblage, ou l'utilisateur reste dans une position d'attente passive, ou alors, quand ce n'est pas le cas, sa participation se borne à agir sur certains paramètres de construction mais jamais sur l'activité d'assemblage elle même. En outre les systèmes interactifs dédiés à ce type d'applications sont souvent partiels et spécifiques à chaque application. Dans ce travail, nous proposons une contribution à la mise en place d'un système d'aide fonde sur la planification interactive dédié à la C.A.O. Ce système permet de générer des séquences d'assemblage de manière interactive, l'utilisateur agissant comme un partenaire du système. L'approche choisie se base sur la coopération entre les mécanismes de la planification interactive, la modélisation des objets C.A.O sous forme prédicative à travers des diagrammes de relations ainsi que la gestion du dialogue. Une interface homme-machine vient compléter l'architecture globale avec des caractéristiques spécifiques au système d'aide. Le couplage système d'aide-modeleurs que nous proposons permet de faire appel à différents modeleurs, ce qui a pour conséquence une meilleure flexibilité du système.

Les travaux présentés dans cette thèse s'inscrivent dans une problématique d'aide à la conception interactive de procédés. L'outil d'aide à la conception repose sur un modèle à base de connaissances décrit comme un problème de satisfaction de contraintes (CSP). La recherche de solutions étant interactive, cet outil exploite les méthodes de filtrage des CSP. La diversité des connaissances à exploiter nous conduit à intégrer différents types de CSP (discrets, continus, mixtes, dynamiques) ainsi que leurs méthodes de filtrage (arc-cohérence, 2B-cohérence, discrétisation). La prise en compte d'abaques expérimentaux 2D dans les modèles à base de contraintes, nécessite l'utilisation d'une structure de données nommée arbre quaternaire. L'intégration de cette structure de données ne pose pas de problème particulier pour les abaques décrits par des contraintes numériques continues. Nous l'étendons pour prendre en compte les abaques décrits par des contraintes mumériques définies par morceaux.

Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of his death (August 27, 2015), one of Le Corbusier's most significant books becomes available again in English. We are doing a reprint of MIT Press's first edition of 1991, which again is based on the original French version of 1930, with an introduction added by the author in 1960. While the MIT Press version had black-and-white illustrations throughout, Park Books' new edition features some of Le Corbusier's drawings in color as they were in the earlier French editions. A new essay by British scholar Tim Benton, written for this new edition, contextualizes the book within Le Corbusier's oeuvre and comments on its lasting significance. An also new appendix explains specialist terms and provides background information on persons and historic events no longer necessarily known to a younger generation of architects. The Precisions, as the book is known commonly, emerged from a spontaneous and exuberant series of 10 lectures Le Corbusier gave in Buenos Aires during the fall of 1929. As he spoke, Le Corbusier improvised drawings on large sheets of paper with crayons. While similar drawings appear in other works, here all the lectures and images appear in their original context as Le Corbusier assembled them more than 80 years ago.
