Book Description
"Cover title; series from head of cover. Caption title: The dog of St. Bernard. "Natural history series. (New). [Retail] 12 [c. each] ..."--McLoughlin Bros. publishers of toy books & juvenile books (New York: McLoughlin Bros., ca. 1871). "Swift's combination toy blocks. ... McLoughlin Bros., Manuf. 71 & 73 Duane Street, N.Y."--publisher's advertisement, p. [4] of wrapper. McLoughlin Bros., Inc. was located at 71 & 73 Duane St. between 1871 and 1886. The earliest McLoughlin publisher's catalogue held by the American Antiquarian Society that was printed at this address was issued ca. 1875. The description of Swift's combination toy blocks printed on the wrapper of the issue in hand matches that found in the publisher's catalogue for 1875, except that the wrapper advertisement states that set no. 2 contains 52 blocks, while the publisher's catalogue describes set. no. 2 as having 50 blocks. This information is repeated in the catalogue for 1876-77, and by 1879, set no. 2 is advertised as containing 100 blocks. Outline of illustrations appear to be lithographed, and printed in colored ink by what appears to be a relief process. Second plate signed: Y.M. "The lost child."--p. [6-8]."

Three suspense detective novels for the price of one in this eBook-exclusive omnibus. Ollie Chandler is a brilliant and quick-witted homicide detective who lives by Ollies' First Law: "Things are not what they appear." These best-selling novels offer readers a compelling, intriguing story of Ollie Chandler combined with other favorite characters. Deadline, Randy Alcorn's first novel, stayed on the bestsellers list for thirty-six months. Dominion is a dramatic story of spiritual searching, racial reconciliation, and hope. Deception responds to readers' demand for more of his believable, compelling fiction. Readers will gain a greater understanding of heaven while recognizing a new idea of why God allows suffering. Deadline Involved in a tragic accident under suspicious circumstances, award-winning journalist Jake Woods teams with detective Ollie Chandler to uncover the truth. This alluring e-omnibus of the Randy Alcorn bestsellers finds Jake drawing upon all his resources in an ever-intensifying, dangerous murder investigation. Unaware of the imminent threat to his own life, Jake struggles for answers to the mystery at hand and is plunged into a deeper search for the meaning of his own existence. Deadline is a dramatic and vivid novel of substance, filled with hope and perspective for every reader who longs to feel purpose in life. Dominion When two senseless killings hit close to home, columnist Clarence Abernathy seeks revenge for the murders--and, ultimately, answers to his own struggles regarding race and faith. After being dragged into the world of inner-city gangs and racial conflict, Clarence is encouraged by fellow columnist Jake Woods to forge an unlikely partnership with a redneck homicide detective. Soon the two find themselves facing dark forces, while unseen eyes watch from above. This re-release of Randy Alcorn's powerful bestseller spins off from Deadline and offers a fascinating glimpse inside heaven. Filled with insight--and with characters so real you'll never forget them--Dominion is a dramatic story of spiritual searching, racial reconciliation, and hope. Deception Homicide detective Ollie Chandler has seen it all. Done more than he cares to admit. But when he's called to investigate the murder of a Portland State University professor, he finds himself going places he's never gone before. Places he never wanted to go. Because all the evidence is pointing to one, horrific conclusion: The murderer is someone in his own department. That's not the worst of it, though. Ollie has nagging doubts...about himself. Where was he during the time of the murder? Joined by journalist Clarence Abernathy and their friend Jake Woods, Ollie pushes the investigation forward. Soon all three are drawn deep into corruption and political tensions that threaten to destroy them--and anyone who tries to help. But they're in too deep to quit. They've got no choice. They have to follow the evidence to the truth...No matter how ugly--or dangerous--it gets.

Book Description
Three mystery novels. Three (or more) murders. Three animal witnesses. Let the fun begin. It all begins with a murdered woman, a frightened dog, and a fake pet psychic who is in for the surprise of her life. Barking Mad at Murder Frankie Chandler is a charlatan. Though she promotes herself as a pet psychic, her profound revelations come from animal behavior books and her ability to interpret the owner’s body language. Then an appointment with a new client goes horribly wrong and leaves her with images of a woman’s murder. Images that came from her canine client. Images that match the description of a body discovered in the Arizona desert. Being a real pet psychic doesn’t come with a manual. Frankie’s overwhelmed by messages from every passing pooch and cranky cat. If she doesn’t figure out how to control her new ability, she’ll go mad. She’ll also miss additional clues that could help catch the killer, and catch the killer she must, because the skeptical detective in charge of the case doesn’t believe she can communicate with the crime’s only witness. But the killer does, and Frankie must convince the frightened dog to reveal the whole story before it's too late...for both of them. A Bird’s Eye View of Murder Pet psychic Frankie Chandler is feeling frazzled. Ever since the night she lost her ability to communicate with animals--and wound up reading the minds of two potential dates--nothing seems to be going right. Her new animal behavior business is a dud, and her love life is as dry as the Arizona desert. To top it off, Frankie's assertive Aunt Gertrude is in town to attend the premiere of Blue-Ribbon Babes, the Baking Channel's latest show. When Frankie and Auntie stumble over the body of the newly appointed Blue-Ribbon Queen, Detective Martin Bowers suspects that Auntie knows more about the victim than she's admitting. The only witness to the murder is an unfriendly cockatoo that's obsessed with cats. Frankie scrambles to revive her talent for talking to animals before the police arrest Aunt Gertrude, but the more she finds out about the victim, the more she wonders if Auntie is guilty. An Almost Purrfect Murder When Frankie Chandler boards an Alaskan cruise ship, she’s hardly a cheerful advertisement for sailing the ocean blue. Her best (and only) friend is getting married, which means the end of impromptu girl’s nights. Her only consolation is the all-night buffet, but even that can’t make up for the body she discovers below her balcony. The only witnesses are a troupe of performing cats. Just when things can’t get any more bizarre, Detective Martin Bowers joins the cruise in Juneau, and the investigation isn’t the only thing about to heat up. Mystery meets romance in these comedic romps through the minds of furry and feathered friends.
