Book Description
Our world faces multiple existential challenges. The ways of doing business and governing nations are now dysfunctional and we are traversing the abyss to extinction. This book identifies a credible path to bypass this disaster. It is anchored on a leadership leap from ‘knowledge’ to ‘wisdom’, driven by political and business leaders manifesting key traits of awareness, bridge-building, and compassion. We are at a watershed moment in human history. While capitalism is unreformable and set for burial, capitalists (owners of capital) can flourish, provided they embrace the inescapable truism that the primacy of profit must make way for the predominance of people and the planet. This demands a paradigm shift from capitalism to Peopleism—a new system of governance that will nurture true democracy rooted in equity, sustainability, transparency, and justice. Capitalism to Peopleism is not just a game-changer; it is a new game-creator. It evolves the essential features of ‘an economics that works for all’, emphasizing a growth strategy that discards the myth of ‘trickle-down’ policies to unveil a ‘surge-up’ development structure, not in incremental tweaks but through systemic transformation. The book invites you to ‘shape your future before it shapes you’. It is a book that inspires and empowers everyone who aspires to live in a safer, happier world.

"Everything has changed but the way We think." Attributed to both Leslie Groves and Albert Einstein right after the Hiroshima explosion, We humans still think as We always have about pretty much everything. It may be the source of Our present anxieties. Respect and Responsibility, with their sibling Justice, have seemingly become lonesome doves, as near to extinction in some manner as so much wildlife and Our stable atmosphere. Government policy and more rigid and brittle individuals have come together to hamstring Our present and Our future. We yet have a lot to learn about Ourselves. This book hopes to begin a new discussion.

Book Description
This book offers a radical reinterpretation of the development of the modern world through the concept of Jacobinism. It argues that the French Revolution was not just another step in the construction of capitalist modernity, but produced an alternative (geo)political economy – that is, 'Jacobinism.' Furthermore, Jacobinism provided a blueprint for other modernization projects, thereby profoundly impacting the content and tempo of global modernity in and beyond Europe. The book traces the journey of Jacobinism in the Ottoman Empire and Turkey. It contends that until the 1950s, the Ottoman/Turkish experiment with modernity was not marked by capitalism, but by a historically specific Jacobinism. Asserting this Jacobin legacy then leads to a novel interpretation of the subsequent transition to and authoritarian consolidation of capitalism in contemporary Turkey. As such, by tracing the world historical trajectory of Jacobinism, the book establishes a new way of understanding the origins and development of global modernity.

Book Description
For Iran the years since Ayatollah Khomeini's death have been dominated by the need for political consolidation and economic reconstruction. The book assesses the critical dilemmas of the regime both previous to and since the demise of its first spiritual leader. The vital issues of political succession and constitutional reform are addressed, contributing to an analysis of the structures and politics of power. How these have reflected upon economic policy is considered with close atttention being given to the reform policies of Rafsanjani. Foreign policy and security issues are discussed in both regional and global terms and include a study of Iranian defence strategy and its controversial re-armament drive. The final chapter examines the direction and context of all of these major policy areas, providing an analysis of whether the Islamic Republic truly represents a revolutionary alternative for the Third World or whether in fact it has developed in time to fall within a similar mould to other notable revolutions, casting by the wayside any uniquely Islamic agenda and alternatives. At the heart of this study is the belief that the Islamic regime has, since the cease-fire with Iraq, but more specifically since Ayatollah Khomeini's death passed into a new stage of development, referred to in the book as the `Second Republic'.
