Book Description
It is alleged that creeds tend inevitably to ossification; that the vitality of religions is almost lost itself in their development; that the ornaments of ritual serve only to obscure the Light which they profess to adorn and magnify Nothing, throughout history has been more painfully demonstrated than the barriers to brotherhood built up by religions; a rivalry often more fully emphasized than softened by missionary zeal Yet the Source of Spirituality must be One, even as God is One; and the differing languages and systems by means of which spirituality strives to assert itself, although they go far in the direction of perpetuating division between races and men, they have, after all, One common origin, the Word, lying dim and only partially realizable in the shadow of a time long-ago There are two minds, as it was written about the trees in the Garden of Eden, “The tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the Tree of Life” This Key determined these things specifically by discerning appropriate definitions in order to find out the sum of the whole matter.

Book Description
Framing effects are everywhere. An estate tax looks very different to a death tax. Gun safety seems to be one thing and gun control another. Yet, the consensus from decision theorists, finance professionals, psychologists, and economists is that frame-dependence is completely irrational. This book challenges that view. Some of the toughest decisions we face are just clashes between different frames. It is perfectly rational to value the same thing differently in two different frames, even when the decision-maker knows that these are really two sides of the same coin. Frame It Again sheds new light on the structure of moral predicaments, the nature of self-control, and the rationality of co-operation. Framing is a powerful tool for redirecting public discussions about some of the most polarizing contemporary issues, such as gun control, abortion, and climate change. Learn effective problem-solving and decision-making to get the better of difficult dilemmas.

Book Description
The Logical Renaissance: Literature, Cognition, and Argument, 1479-1630 is the first substantial account of early modern English literature's deep but uncharted relationship with logic. The nature and functions of logic have been largely misunderstood in literary criticism of the period, where it is often seen as sterile and formalistic: either an overcomplex remnant of Medieval philosophy superseded by rhetoric, or part of a Ramist pedagogy so stripped back that it had little to offer in the way of creative inspiration. Katrin Ettenhuber shows instead that early modern writers encountered in their study of logic a vibrantly practical art of argument and reasoning, which provided rich opportunities for imaginative engagement and artistic appropriation. The book opens with a clear and accessible introduction to the logical terms and concepts that will guide the discussion. It charts changes in logic education between the late fifteenth and early seventeenth centuries, before presenting a series of case studies that illustrate the creative applications of logic across a wide range of genres, including epic and lyric poetry, drama, and religious prose. The Logical Renaissance demonstrates, for the first time, logic's central role in the literary culture of early modern England.

Book Description
"Ideas, good and bad, are productive, and a teacher of ideas can have a vast influence in the propagating of good and bad ideas. We have only to review the influence of German Idealism upon German and English Romanticism to see this realized. Similarly, today, in the United States, we are reaping the fruit, good and bad, of ideas that have been sown during the past several decades. Some of them we accept, some we reject. All of them deserve our investigation, insofar as it is within our power to investigate them in order that, as followers of truth, we may sift the good from the bad."--From the preface.
