Excerpt from Annual Report of the Hawaii Agricultural Experiment Station for 1912 As the Work of the, different members of the station staff continues, new conveniences are required in the station buildings for special' purposes. Many interior changes have been made to better meet the new requirements. In addition to interior alterations most of the buildings have been repainted and otherwise repaired in order to protect them more fully against injurious effects of the weather, Which are particularly noticeable under tropical conditions. A glass house has been erected for propagating purposes, and the old one, which had become quite unsuited to our purposes, was torn down and partly used in the construction of the new glass house. This Structure is made proof against ants by means of cement pillars standing in water. Arrangements for bottom heat in the main propa gating bed have been made by means of circulating water Which is heated by sunlight in an outside tank. An additional workhouse has been erected for the use of the horticultural department. This contains rooms for seeds, fruit, storage of spraying machinery, and for general inside work purposes.
