Book Description
In this compilation, the authors begin by highlighting the recent developments in asymmetric 1,4- and 1,2- additions to α, β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds. The recent finding of Cu (I)-catalyzed asymmetric 1,2-addition of Grignard reagents to α, β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds, as well as aromatic ketones, has categorically revolutionized catalytic asymmetric reactions. This compilation also aims to use the well-known coordination preference of zinc in phthalocyanine and porphyrin ligands in correlation with supramolecular systems. The light-absorption process in dye-sensitized solar cells is studied using the time-dependent density functional theory. In recent years, a series of investigations on detonation wave formation in acetylene have been published. In these studies, it was shown that the formation of detonation proceeds entirely due to the energy released during the condensation of carbon nanoparticles during the growth of poly-aromatic hydrocarbons. The results of these studies are summarized and practical applications are discussed. The authors discuss aromatic amines, derivatives of aromatic hydrocarbons containing an amino group/an amine group/nitrogen atom in their structures. These compounds represent one of the most important classes of industrial and environmental chemicals. Three groups have been studied: monocyclic, polycyclic, and heterocyclic aromatic amines, which are used as intermediates in azo dye manufacturing, pigments, drugs, antibiotics, antidepressants, pesticides, and other industrial products. In the closing study, the GC-MS/MS method has been developed for the determination and quantification of 35 multiclass pesticide residues in chili samples. Pesticides were selected from different families including organochlorines, organophosphorus, carbamates, pyrethroids, triazines, triazoles, and pyrazoles. The QuEChERS-dSPE method was used for the extraction of pesticide residue.

Book Description
This new and important book presents recent advances in organometallic chemistry which is based on the reactions and use of a class of compounds (R-M) that contain a covalent bond between carbon and metal. They are prepared either by direct reaction of the metal with an organic compound or by replacement of a metal from another organometallic substance. Research in organometallic chemistry is also conducted in the areas of cluster synthesis, main-group derivatives in unusual oxidation states, organometallic polymers, unstable organometallic compounds and intermediates in matrices, structure determination of organometallic compounds in the solid state [X-ray diffraction] and gaseous states [electron diffraction], and mechanisms of reactions of transient silylenes and related species. In addition to the traditional metals and semimetals, elements such as selenium, lithium and magnesium are considered to form organometallic compounds, e.g. organomagnesium compounds MeMgI, iodo(methyl)magnesium and diethylmagnesium which are Grignard reagents an organo-lithium compound BuLi butyllithium; Organometallic compounds often find practical use as catalysts, the processing of petroleum products and the production of organic polymers.

Beginning with an overview of obesity, showing the current research landscape, the books shows the importance of natural and synthetic products as promising anti-obesity agents. Subsequently, the medicinal chemistry of modulation of bacterial resistance is presented, focusing on the MFS, RND, ABC, and MATE superfamilies. The book goes on to discuss such topics as antituberculosis, antileishmanial, and anti-hepatitis thiophene-containing compounds, under the medicinal chemistry point of view. Also, potent human glutaminyl cyclase inhibitors are deeply discussed and displayed as hopeful anti-Alzheimer's agents. The last three chapters are focused on the development of researches involving new anticancer agents, initializing with LBDD, SBDD, QSAR, and QM/MM methods applied to the identification of novel promising anticancer compounds. Moreover, IDO1 inhibitors are exhaustively explored and analyzed as a new promise for the immunotherapy of cancer. Finally, a great update on Eg5 kinesin inhibitors is provided, exploring different chemical classes of synthetic and natural compounds, including miscellanea as a new approach for Eg5 inhibition. Combining the expertise of researchers from around the world, this volume aims to support and encourage researches for the development of novel, safe, and active agents against lipase enzyme, bacteria, neglected tropical diseases, Alzheimer, and cancer. Book Description
Advances in Chemistry Research. Volume 62 first provides information related to the synthesis, morphology, crystal structure, and porosity of bentonite and bentonite/magnetite powders. Following this, the authors discuss carbon tetrachloride, a clear, colourless, volatile and very stable chlorinated hydrocarbon with a non-polar nature, making it an excellent solvent.Recent research on the applications of hydrogen peroxide as oxidizing and reducing agent is presented, as well as its application in biocatalysis, as signaling molecule, and in nanochemistry. The mode of action hydrogen peroxide induces in yeast apoptosis is also addressed, including overexpression of apoptosis inducing factor homologue proteins.Additionally, this compilation describes the recent advances concerning the use of hydrogen peroxide in heteropolyacid-catalyzed oxidation reactions of terpenic alcohols, which are renewable origin compounds whose oxidation provides aldehydes and epoxides.Diamines, organic compounds with two amino groups, are described. In one study, different diamines are synthesized with complex formulas used in the preparation of different thermally stable polymers.A few diamines used in developing thin-film polyamide composite membranes are reviewed. The concluding study is focused on gas hydrates, mixtures of light gases such as methane, ethane or carbon dioxide, and water molecules under a special temperature and pressure condition, forming a liquid-like material.

Book Description
In Solvent Effects in Chemistry: Advances in Applications and Research, a critical review of solvent influence on the performance of metal catalysts in the hydrogenation of carbonyl compounds, specifically unsaturated aldehydes, ketones and ketoesters, is provided.Additionally, the effects of solvent on the kinetics and mechanism of different reactions, stability, and sensitivity of the nanostructures are investigated. The uses of a large of variety of solvents varying from non-polar low basic solvents to polar strong basic solvents are discussed, showing that the properties of different solvents strongly influence the product composition of both studied reactions. The effects of solvent on the isomerization of monoterpenes epoxides as α- and β-pinene epoxide, limonene epoxide, verbenol epoxide, and nopol epoxide are explained from molecular and mechanistic points of view. The concluding study explores how heterolytic bond dissociation forms ionic species, while the corresponding homolytic bond dissociation results in the formation of neutral radical species.
