Includes military documents concerning soldiers serving in Capt. Arthur T. Wilcox's Co. E 7th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Clothing accounts, certificates of disability, camp equipage records, ordnance issue stores, and other miscellaneous military records extend from June 1862 through Dec. 1864. There is a series of fourteen Civil War letters written by seven different soldiers presumed to be from Erie County, Ohio. All but one of the letters are directed to Joseph Grimes. A number of the soldiers, including Ephraim Baker, who wrote five of the letters to Grimes, served in the 101st OVI. The final portion of the collection includes typed transcripts of Civil War letters written by Erie County, Ohio, men during the course of the war. The original correspondence is among the holdings of the Follett House in Sandusky, Ohio. Some materials are oversized.
