Book Description
Nutrition remains the key to the successful treatment of diseases, in addition to the various evolved medical treatments across the world. The treatment outcome improves to a better extent with a degree of nourishment of the patients. Therapeutic Nutrition in Ayurveda (TNA) categorizes diseases system-wise and discusses nutrition with references from Ayurveda classics as well as publications from indexed journals in today’s world. This book emerges as a pilot project to discuss the clinical experiences directly and the concept of nutravigilance by experienced authors of respective specialties like hepatology, neurology, dermatology, ophthalmology, oncology, cardiology, gynecology, and so on. It broadly discusses diet and nutrition based on 12 different groups of diet in Ayurveda. Nutrition has been widely discussed for every disease dynamically in Ayurveda, with details of exclusion and inclusion of foods over a stipulated period or entire duration of treatment. Key Features: Presents system-wise and disease-wise therapeutic nutrition Includes clinical experience of physicians on therapeutic nutrition Contains interdisciplinary discussion on therapeutic nutrition with an integrated approach The integration of traditional and conventional health systems, along with the multidisciplinary approach, is the emerging trend for inclusive health care in the coming decades. This book serves as a handy guide for health care professionals across the continents, providing interdisciplinary correlations on nutrition.

Book Description
Given the uncertainties in future food and nutrition security due to climate change compounded with an increasing global population, sustainable development is essential for the survival of much of the world's population. Besides the conceptual evolution of food and nutrition security, exploration of new scientific areas aids in reshaping our knowledge of nutritional requirements, and innovation of novel technologies can be utilized to tackle production and security issues in sustainable ways. Emerging Solutions in Sustainable Food and Nutrition Security provides comprehensive and up-to-date coverage of the current problems and issues, emerging ideas, and pragmatic solutions in sustainable nutrition. The book is designed to promote an understanding of the fundamentals and changing landscapes of food systems, nutrition, and environmental sustainability. Emerging issues such as the growing importance of traditional foods in improving nutrition security, the exploration of biodiversity to promote food diversity, the sustainable management of current agroecosystems, the progress made in utilizing biotechnology to enhance crop production, the utilization of bio-fortification and food fortification as means of nutritional management, the latest research advancements in mineral research, and the functional foods are comprehensively addressed. For researchers seeking a deeper insight into sustainable nutrition security and the current technical developments, these chapters cover current technologies across the four pillars of food security, food availability, food accessibility, food utilization, and food stability, and provide a platform for critical scientific thinking in the field of food security, safety, and environmental sustainability in conjunction with Sustainable Development Goals such as Zero Hunger and Climate Action.

Book Description
In recent decades, agrochemicals have enhanced crop productivity to meet increasing global food requirements. However, prolonged and extensive use of agrochemicals has resulted in contamination that persists in the soil system which can be biomagnified in the food chain. Furthermore, toxic chemicals adversely affect important soil microbial biota, the key drivers of biogeochemical cycles. This concern has raised the need to develop environmentally friendly and cost-effective nano- and micro-biotechnology strategies to minimize the adverse impact of agrochemicals and pesticide residues on soil microbiota, soil fertility, and their biomagnification in food crops. Nano-bioinoculants - the combination of nano-compounds and bioinoculants - have been increasingly used as soil amendments. They can improve agri-potential and soil health by maintaining soil physico- and biological properties, microbial diversity, and the nutrient-solubilizing microbial population. They also aid in improving crop yields and reducing agrochemical and pesticide residues. Nano-bioinoculants are more efficient than other methods for removing contaminants due to their small size, high reactivity, and catalytic activities. Several types of nano-compounds (chitosan, zeolite, gypsum, and silicon dioxide) have been used in conjunction with beneficial microbes (bacteria fungi, actinomycetes & endophytic bacteria) as nano-bioinoculants.

Book Description
Sustainable Plant Nutrition: Molecular Interventions and Advancements for Crop Improvement explores the significant opportunities for sustainable, eco-friendly approaches in plant nutrition and agricultural crop production. The book highlights the various prospects involved in optimizing plant nutrient uptake agriculture and includes chapters representing diverse areas dealing with biotechnology, nanotechnology, molecular biology, proteomics, genomics and metabolomics. This book is an ideal resource for those seeking to ensure a sustainable plant production future. While plants have evolved a set of elaborate mechanisms to cope with nutrient limitations, the traditional supplementation by the application of fertilizers to plant productivity may then lead to overfertilization which can actually reduce plant growth and have adverse effects on the environment. To tackle these issues, a detailed understanding of the responses of plants to nutrients and nutrient deficiency at the physiological, metabolic, transcriptome and epigenetic level is essential. Illustrates the central role of sustainable plant nutrition to address current and future challenges Presents global insights and research ranging from signaling to sensing and translational research Provides a forward-looking perspective for future plans of action
