Book Description
This book features a concept for walking the road of life, a background into the origin of life, a perspective on the function of energy, and an insight into the energy of life. John is just a character through which to convey the concept of how to control ones existences while walking the road of life. He represents the six billion carbon life-forms on the third rock in this small galaxy that is the envelope of living materials of atoms and matter. These are presented in the form of Homo sapiens, the dominant species among the billions of species that reside on this rock. This provides an explanation on the special energy that fuels the brain and provides it life-giving abilities. It is an insight into the scientific knowledge and intelligence that is needed to understand the existence of life as it started and progressed. This offers some alternatives to the age-old beliefs that have dominated the social circles of existing, and it gives a method to control the hectic life into which the species has evolved. John lives in a world that just keeps increasing in the speed of existence necessary to survive. He is an example of the ability to change the route that has existed so long that it probably has become the norm instead of the exception. John is an example of the Homo sapien from the time of reproduction until the road of life is terminated and its lifes energy is transferred to be recycled for another generation.

Book Description
These memoirs tell my story of hope. in my early years my father was trying to help the Jews of Europe and worked on the establishment of Israel. Later there were wonderful years growing and learning in Vermont. I describe my personal experiences in the remarkable human rights movement of Martin Luther King. There were years of rising hope for a better community mental health care system as we built programs at Johns Hopkin, Rutgers University, and the Medical College of Wisconsin. The defunding by the Reagan administration and the cruel consequences that occurred are described as I subsequently worked with residents of the inner city of Milwaukee. In 1982, I started to work on the absorption of immigrants to Israel and became chair as we tried to avoid the mistakes of the black-white relationships in America for the tens of thousands of black immigrants from Ethiopia. We worked to help integrate 1,250,000 immigrants who were penniless strangers from communist lands adapting to a new language and culture in Israel. The book also describes the hope engendered by my remarriage and my remarkable family. The epilogue describes the current reality of the Covid 19 pandemic and the rising awareness of the need to heal the long unfair relationship with black Americans as well as an increasing deprived underclass. The book suggests bringing hope to those now deprived using some of the methods of absorption we used in Israel.

Book Description
Author Jeffrey Ahern had longed to serve in the Army since he was thirteen years old. He attained that goal, and in Sons of Hope he narrates the story of his service as an infantry platoon leader during Operation Iraqi Freedom III and IV. Sons of Hope is based on the daily diary entries kept while he was assigned to Delta Company, 3rd Battalion, 172 Infantry (Mountain) from January 2005 to May 2006. Aherns story begins with the mobilization training the platoon and company endured at Fort Stewart, Georgia, and then Fort Irwin, California, leaving the United States in May 2005. He provides details on the platoons counterinsurgency operations, daily patrols, nightly raids, the constant fear of IEDs and suicide bombers, and the never ending search for an unseen enemy. A vivid and detailed account, Sons of Hope provides insight into what life was like for a frontline soldier in Iraq conducting offensive operations. It communicates the importance of the sacrifices soldiers and their families have made in the last decade of war.
