Book Description
This ebook includes 4 videos, 34 audio clips, and 11 additional photos from Graham Nash’s personal collection. Audio and video content does not play on all reading devices. Check your user manual for details. From Graham Nash—the legendary musician and founding member of the iconic bands Crosby, Stills & Nash and The Hollies—comes a candid and riveting autobiography that belongs on the reading list of every classic rock fan. Graham Nash's songs defined a generation and helped shape the history of rock and roll—he’s written over 200 songs, including such classic hits as "Carrie Anne," “On A Carousel,” "Simple Man," "Our House," “Marrakesh Express,” and "Teach Your Children." From the opening salvos of the British Rock Revolution to the last shudders of Woodstock, he has rocked and rolled wherever music mattered. Now Graham is ready to tell his story: his lower-class childhood in post-war England, his early days in the British Invasion group The Hollies; becoming the lover and muse of Joni Mitchell during the halcyon years, when both produced their most introspective and important work; meeting Stephen Stills and David Crosby and reaching superstardom with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; and his enduring career as a solo musician and political activist. Nash has valuable insights into a world and time many think they know from the outside but few have experienced at its epicenter, and equally wonderful anecdotes about the people around him: the Beatles, the Stones, Hendrix, Cass Elliot, Dylan, and other rock luminaries. From London to Laurel Canyon and beyond, Wild Tales is a revealing look back at an extraordinary life—with all the highs and the lows; the love, the sex, and the jealousy; the politics; the drugs; the insanity—and the sanity—of a magical era of music.

Wild Tales
Author: Nikolai Haitov
Publisher: Peter Owen Publishers
ISBN: 0720618177
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 221
Book Description
Haitov’s tales are set in the small villages of the Rhodope Mountains in south-east Bulgaria, one of the most remote corners of Europe. They are related in a robust, down-to-earth style by a series of finely realized narrators, most of whom look back to the ea rly years of this century and beyond, when brides were stolen and bandits roamed the hills. These men – shepherds, shoemakers, coopers and foresters –speak to the reader directly, involving him in their triumphs, their disappointments, their exploits in love or in business. Each has a tale to tell, and tells it superbly; indeed, so vivid and engrossing are their stories, and such is the skill with which Haitov utilizes the rhythms and idioms .of colloquial speech, that one seems to be actually listening to rather than reading these stirring tales of ‘those far-off days when men were men’. This collection, superbly translated by Michael Holman, reveals Nikolai Haitov as one of the contempo rary masters of the short- story form and provides an ideal introduction to the little-known literature of Bulgaria.

Wild Tales from the Wild
Author: Saad Bin Jung
Publisher: Roli Books Private Limited
ISBN: 817436952X
Category : Travel
Languages : en
Pages : 144
Book Description
For the weary urban dweller, the verdant Mangala valley near the Bandipur National Park in Karnataka,; would seem like a haven of peace and tranquility. Appearances could not be more deceptive, as Saad Bin Jung discovered after forsaking his life in the city for a stone cottage in the valley. If the surrounding jungles were teeming with wildlife of every variety, the life that the human of the area led was no less wild. Here, he recounts the adventures that he had with some of them: the leopard who moved into 'bison cottage', the dining hall cobra, the magnificent Mangala tiger, Torn Ears, the most-photographed gaur of his time, and the elephants whom he loved with a passion, Colonel Hathi, Jayaprakash and even the Rightchipped Tusker with his bullying ways, amongst them. Not to be outdone were the members of the Kuruba tribe and other humans - Mr B, the family expert, the elderly manager with a raging libido, the gorgeous foreign girls who almost saw him booted out of the family - who came to share his life at Bush Betta, the wildlife resort that he set up in 1991. Hair-raising and hilarious, these are stories that anyone who has had a taste of the wild, or wished that they could, will enjoy, as much for their drama and comedy as for the many fascinating insights into animal behaviour that they provide. No less compelling is the message between the lines, the grandeur and beauty of India's forests, and the need to preserve them at all costs.

Book Description
“We walked toward the part of the library where the air smelled as if it had been interred for years….. Finally, we got to the hallway where the wooden floor was the creakiest, and we sensed a strange whiff of excitement and fear. It smelled like a creature from a bygone time. It smelled like a dragon.” Thirteen-year-old Juan’s favorite things in the world are koalas, eating roast chicken, and the summer-time. This summer, though, is off to a terrible start. First, Juan’s parents separate and his dad goes to Paris. Then, as if that wasn’t horrible enough, Juan is sent away to his strange Uncle Tito’s house for the entire break! Uncle Tito is really odd: he has zigzag eyebrows; drinks ten cups of smoky tea a day; and lives inside a huge, mysterious library. One day, while Juan is exploring the library, he notices something inexplicable and rushes to tell Uncle Tito. “The books moved!” His uncle drinks all his tea in one gulp and, sputtering, lets his nephew in on a secret: Juan is a Princeps Reader––which means books respond magically to him––and he’s the only person capable of finding the elusive, never-before-read Wild Book. Juan teams up with his new friend Catalina and his little sister, and together they delve through books that scuttle from one shelf to the next, topple over unexpectedly, or even disappear altogether to find The Wild Book and discover its secret. But will they find it before the wicked, story-stealing Pirate Book does?

Book Description
**Pirates in Time Complete Trilogy!** Pirate's Prize A woman scorned by a thief. A pirate captain on the hunt to change his stars. Scammed by the man she trusted, all Emily wants is a fun day with her friends at the Tall Ships festival to forget about him and her lost life savings. When she and her best friend put on necklaces purchased from a vendor, she's sent back in time to 1715, alone. A sexy pirate captain saves her life, but he steals her only way home. Angry at another thief, Emily pretends to be a man and joins the crew, but her vain efforts only bring her closer to the captain, and he's not what she expected. Emily finds herself trying to prove she can handle him and the crew, but if he finds out she's a woman, it means her death, and the captain's secret could destroy her forever. Pirate's Treasure A woman devastated by petty revenge. A pirate captain fueled by vengeance. An enlightening text hours before her I-do ceremony left Angela Foxe brokenhearted and cursing technology. Having decided no decent guys are left, Angela is only interested in a good time, and at the Tall Ships festival, she intends to fulfill that wish with a little pirate booty. Instead, she finds herself transported to 1715. Captain Price doesn't care about the gold, but if he can bribe the crew, he will. Nothing is going to stop him from vengeance against the Spanish warship responsible for his brother's murder, knowing it will cost his life. When a woman appears on his ship, challenging everything he believes in, Price will have to make a choice. She just might be the one person capable of saving him in more ways than one. Pirate's Plunder A police officer desperate to save lives. A reckless pirate captain looking to self-destruct. By dating colleagues, Robin Hall had broken the cardinal rule at work, and now that mistake is following her around like a buzzing bee. Robin wants an escape, but she’d promised her friends she’d join them at the Tall Ships festival. While desperately searching for them, a handsome but disheveled man spouts crazy details of a historical world, and she’s determined to help the mentally ill enthusiast. But what if he’s telling the truth? Reputation, a pirate’s most valuable prize, but not to Captain Riley. He only wants to give his crew the ultimate prize—both showering the crew in riches and bringing him to his long-lost family. But a traitor from his past reappears, and before Riley can stop yet another betrayal, he’s transported to a foreign world of shiny beasts, amazing cooling devices, and strange food. When his rescuer follows him home, can he protect her from the plan he’d already set in motion?
