Book Description
Johann Christian Bach's' Concerto in C minor has become one of the most popular viola repertory pieces. The piece is however not by J.C. Bach at all, but rather a well-intentioned fabrication of the Casedesus brothers Henri and Marius. Henri Casadesus was an outstanding violist and presented this concerto in 1916 as a new discovery by J.C. Bach. It was subsequently revealed to be an invention of Casadesus himself, 'inspired' by J.C. Bach sources. This Edition Peters publication contains a piano reduction and offers the possibility of performance by viola, cello or violin, containing separate parts for these instruments.

Book Description
Teach violin with the popular Suzuki Violin School. The Suzuki Method(R) of Talent Education is based on Shinichi Suzuki's view that every child is born with ability, and that people are the product of their environment. According to Shinichi Suzuki, a world-renowned violinist and teacher, the greatest joy an adult can know comes from developing a child's potential so he/she can express all that is harmonious and best in human beings. Students are taught using the "mother-tongue" approach. Each series of books for a particular instrument in the Suzuki Method is considered a Suzuki music school, such as the Suzuki Violin School. Suzuki lessons are generally given in a private studio setting with additional group lessons. The student listens to the recordings and works with their Suzuki violin teacher to develop their potential as a musician and as a person. This Suzuki Book & CD is integral for Suzuki violin lessons. This revised edition of the Suzuki Violin School, Volume 3 features: * Revised editing of pieces, including bowings and fingerings * Additional exercises, some from Shinichi Suzuki, plus additional insight and suggestions for teachers * Text in English, French, Spanish, and German. * Musical notation guide * Fingerboard position * CD with recordings by William Preucil Jr., accompanied by Linda Perry, as well as piano accompaniments recorded alone. Titles: Study Points * Tonalization * Vibrato Exercises * Gavotte (Martini) * Minuet (Bach) * Gavotte in G Minor (Bach) * Humoresque (Dvorák) * Gavotte (Becker) * Gavotte in D Major (Bach) * Bourrée (Bach). For a complete list of the most recent printings by AMPV number, go to alfred.com/suzuki. This title is available in SmartMusic. Book Description
Cecil Forsyth (1870 - 1941) was an English composer and musicologist. He played the viola in various orchestras in London after attending the University of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Music, where he studied together with Hubert Parry and Charles Villiers Stanford. He is best remembered for his operas "Westward Ho!" and "Cinderella," as well as the choral ballad "Tinker, Tailor." This book contains the complete sheet music for his piece "Chanson Celtique," a classical composition for piano and vocals. With wide margins and clear notation, this volume is highly recommended for students and those with an interest in playing classical music. Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this volume now in a modern, high-quality edition complete with a specially commissioned new introduction and biography of the composer.
