Book Description
Since time immemorial, men experiment with increasing the size of their penis. Inserted foreign bodies in the penis have been known for long in several cultures. In some subcultures the habit of self-harm of the penis for augmentation is widespread today, as well. The book describes the various lay and medical activities that change the size of the penis to enhance sexual pleasure. The Vaseline has been being used for penile augmentation or thickening for more than 100 years. The method of Vaseline self-injection for penile thickening is especially prevalent among prisoners. We carried out a survey in Hungary's six largest prisons on penis augmentation by Vaseline. Almost two thousand convicts filled out the questionnaire. 15.7% of the respondents admitted that they injected Vaseline into their penis. The patients commit self-injection of Vaseline to emphasize their masculinity, but often instead of the intended result, complications occur and the treatment is surgical. The book presents the results of 78 patients undergoing surgery for damage suffered as a result of Vaseline self-injection.

Book Description
This book presents state of the art knowledge on penile augmentation with a view to providing a guide that will be highly relevant to clinical practice. The coverage is wide ranging, with clear descriptions of penile anatomy, patient selection and counselling, preoperative preparation, girth enhancement and penile lengthening techniques, postoperative care, and the approach to the pediatric patient. Experienced surgeons describe operative procedures from traditional fat transfer to the penile disassembly technique and reconstruction of the amputated penis, while the newest tissue engineering techniques are presented by leading researchers with reference to high-quality data. In addition, the role of auxiliary medical devices is explained. The text is supported by numerous full-color illustrations. Only recently have the requisite medical skills and techniques been developed to allow safe and reliable penile augmentation, and now the procedure is considered comparable to the use of mammoplasty for breast augmentation in women for cosmetic and psychological reasons. Penile Augmentation will be of value for all who are involved or interested in the procedure.

Book Description
The notion of being able to engineer complete organs has inspired an entire generation of researchers. While recent years have brought significant progress in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering, the immense challenges encountered when trying to engineer an entire organ have to be acknowledged. Despite a good understanding of cell phenotypes, cellular niches and cell-to-biomaterial interactions, the formation of tissues composed of multiple cells remains highly challenging. Only a step-by-step approach will allow the future production of a living tissue construct ready for implantation and to augment organ function. In this book, expert authors present the current state of this approach. It offers a concise overview and serves as a great starting point for anyone interested in the application of tissue engineering or regenerative medicine for organ engineering. Each chapter contains a short overview including physiological and pathological changes as well as the current clinical need. The potential cell sources and suitable biomaterials for each organ type are discussed and possibilities to produce organ-like structures are illustrated. The ultimate goal is for the generated small tissues to unfold their full potential in vivo and to serve as a native tissue equivalent. By integrating and evolving, these implants will form functional tissue in-vivo. This book discusses the desired outcome by focusing on well-defined functional readouts. Each chapter addresses the status of clinical translations and closes with the discussion of current bottlenecks and an outlook for the coming years. A successful regenerative medicine approach could solve organ shortage by providing biological substitutes for clinical use - clearly, this merits a collaborative effort.
