Another Politics
Author: Chris Dixon
Publisher: Univ of California Press
ISBN: 0520279018
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 384
Book Description
Amidst war, economic meltdown, and ecological crisis, a Ònew spirit of radicalism is bloomingÓ from New York to Cairo, according to Chris Dixon. In Another Politics, he examines the trajectory of efforts that contributed to the radicalism of Occupy Wall Street and other recent movement upsurges. Drawing on voices of leading organizers across the United States and Canada, he delivers an engaging presentation of the histories and principles that shape many contemporary struggles. Dixon outlines the work of activists aligned with anti-authoritarian, anti-capitalist, and anti-oppression politics and discusses the lessons they are learning in their efforts to create social transformation. The book explores solutions to the key challenge for todayÕs activists, organizers, fighters, and dreamers: building a substantive link between the work of Òagainst,Ó which fights ruling institutions, and the work of Òbeyond,Ó which develops liberatory alternatives.

The Tragedy of Ukraine
Author: Nicolai N. Petro
Publisher: Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG
ISBN: 311074337X
Category : Political Science
Languages : en
Pages : 304
Book Description
The conflict in Ukraine has deep domestic roots. A third of the population, primarily in the East and South, regards its own Russian cultural identity as entirely compatible with a Ukrainian civic identity. The state’s reluctance to recognize this ethnos as a legitimate part of the modern Ukrainian nation, has created a tragic cycle that entangles Ukrainian politics. The Tragedy of Ukraine argues that in order to untangle the conflict within the Ukraine, it must be addressed on an emotional, as well as institutional level. It draws on Richard Ned Lebow’s ‘tragic vision of politics’ and on classical Greek tragedy to assist in understanding the persistence of this conflict. Classical Greek tragedy once served as a mechanism in Athenian society to heal deep social trauma and create more just institutions. The Tragedy of Ukraine reflects on the ways in which ancient Greek tragedy can help us rethink civic conflict and polarization, as well as model ways of healing deep social divisions.

ISBN: 9781623366544
Category : Aging
Languages : en
Pages : 440
Book Description
"We have proof that aging doesn't have to be a downward slope. There's your chronological age-what the calendar says-and then there's your biological age, which is a measure of how well your body and brain are holding up for your chronological age. And there's mounting evidence that a healthy lifestyle can actually lower your biological age from the inside out. These healthy lifestyle changes-to your diet, exercise, and sleep habits and to how your deal with stress-are totally accessible to anyone and bring amazing results. How do we know? We combed the latest science and consulted with a dream team of advisors in health, fitness, nutrition and beauty to roll our findings into a simple Younger in 8 Weeks Plan. Then we tested it on 21 women ages 36 to 66 who'd been struggling with weight gain, lack of energy, loss of luster, and other common age-related issues."-

Supermoms Activated
Author: Jacqueline Toboroff
Publisher: Bombardier Books
ISBN: 1637587201
Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 234
Book Description
Moms—the largest voting bloc—have had enough. Democrats have sold them a bill of lies. They’ve had their parental rights stripped, gender mocked, bodily autonomy rejected, safety imperiled, voices silenced, and children turned against them by the educational system they fund. Moms are only loyal to one party: their kids. Supermoms Activated charts the journey of twelve mothers from across the nation from varying socioeconomic, religious, racial, and political party affiliations. From flipping school boards, bringing cases before the Supreme Court, running for office, lobbying, crafting policy, starting new schools, and changing how politicians campaign, the mom army is coming to save this nation. The mom crusade has come to protect children from the mainstreaming of “gender dysmorphia,” “privilege blocks,” and “furries.” Their movement has been so impactful that the big guns, hoping to silence and disavow them, have been summoned: mainstream and social media, teachers unions, educators, campaign consultants, Hollywood, and even the president of the United States, Joe Biden. These groups have waged war against concerned moms, labeling them “domestic terrorists.” Supermoms Activated takes readers on a deep-dive into why moms woke up and risked everything. Through personal journeys, this book shows different approaches taken to fight back against Marxism on all fronts. There are wins and losses, but more than that, there’s a game plan moving forward. Personal agency is most important when it comes to stopping wokeism from taking over and one person can start a prairie fire. Join these moms in the American revival.
