Evaluating Collaborative Reproductive Health Programs in Thailand
Author: Jantanee Dumrak
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Reproductive health
Languages : en
Pages : 838
Book Description
Reproductive health (RH) issues are not a new concern for Thailand. For decades the Thai Government has devoted significant resources to reduce poor reproductive health outcomes. Many RH interventions are established in the forms of collaborative reproductive health (CRH) projects between Government and international donors. A key partner helping Thailand with this problem is The United Nations Population Fund or UNFPA. The government receives contributions including funds and technical assistance for the implementation of CRH projects. The contributions from international donors are valuable for national development and the improvement of RH within the population. However, the assistance and the funds usually have a nominated expiry date. Termination of funding quite often causes discontinuity of RH services where donor funds are the main funding source. Hence, the completion of these projects and the delivery of expected RH outcomes are of great concern to this research.
