Thermal Expansion of Alpha and of Beta Brass Between 0 and 600° C, in Relation to the Mechanical Properties of Heterogeneous Brasses of the Muntz Metal Type (Classic Reprint)
Author: Paul Dyer Merica
Publisher: Forgotten Books
ISBN: 9780666598820
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 26
Book Description
Excerpt from Thermal Expansion of Alpha and of Beta Brass Between 0 and 600° C, in Relation to the Mechanical Properties of Heterogeneous Brasses of the Muntz Metal Type The samples for the measurements were cast in chill molds, heat treated in order to produce a homogeneous, stress-free alloy, then machined and tested. The specimens 259 and 261 were made of pure electrolytic copper and Horsehead zinc; the others were made of some re melted copper, together with Horsehead zinc and Straits tin. These samples, unfortunately, contained some lead and iron. The chemical analyses of the samples are given in Table 1. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Find more at www.forgottenbooks.com This book is a reproduction of an important historical work.
