Book Description
This study guide for the Chemistry Olympiad contains summarized concepts and examples in all areas of chemistry. The chapters are arranged in a logical manner and establishes connections between concepts. Undergraduate chemistry concepts are explained clearly: every equation in physical chemistry is derived and justified while every organic reaction has its reaction mechanism shown and explained, without assuming that readers have university-level background in the subject. The book also contains original Chemistry Olympiad sample problems that readers may use to test their knowledge.This is a first book of its kind, written by Nan Zhihan, International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) gold medallist and winner of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) Prize for achieving the highest score in the experimental exam, and experienced Chemistry Olympiad trainer Dr Zhang Sheng, who has served as head mentor of Singapore IChO team for many years. It builds on the experience of both a participant and trainer to help any aspiring Chemistry Olympiad student understand the challenging concepts in chemistry.

Book Description
This book is part of a series of Chemistry Olympiad - A problem-solving approach. This book aims to provide a problem-solving approach to the questions in Chemistry Olympiad, a different take to Chemistry Olympiad as opposed to the routine memorisation and heavy content provided in other books. I plan to make a series of these books for various other chapters such as kinetics, organic chemistry, inorganic elucidation etc. if this book gains any form of traction.The books would be separated into 3 main chapters: Fundamentals, Problem-solving approach, Tips & tricks. The first chapter will provide you with the necessary knowledge to solve the problems you will face in Chemistry Olympiad. In the next chapter, we will go through some techniques used to solve problems. There would be problems of which you may choose to do before reading the solutions in this chapter. The solutions will include guided techniques to tackling such problems along with in depth analysis and explanation of the questions. Lastly, the final chapter, would comprise of tips I have picked up along the way which will help increase your speed in doing problems and general advice.I graduated from NUS High (Singapore) in 2019 with High Distinction with Honours in Mathematics and Chemistry, and Majors in Biology and Physics. I participated in the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) representing Singapore in 2019 and attained a gold medal when I was 18 years old.The idea for the book came out of boredom due to COVID-19. ㈵0;

Book Description
Written for calculus-inclusive general chemistry courses, Chemical Principles helps students develop chemical insight by showing the connections between fundamental chemical ideas and their applications. Unlike other texts, it begins with a detailed picture of the atom then builds toward chemistry's frontier, continually demonstrating how to solve problems, think about nature and matter, and visualize chemical concepts as working chemists do. Flexibility in level is crucial, and is largely established through clearly labeling (separating in boxes) the calculus coverage in the text: Instructors have the option of whether to incorporate calculus in the coverage of topics. The multimedia integration of Chemical Principles is more deeply established than any other text for this course. Through the unique eBook, the comprehensive Chemistry Portal, Living Graph icons that connect the text to the Web, and a complete set of animations, students can take full advantage of the wealth of resources available to them to help them learn and gain a deeper understanding.

Book Description
Number theory is an important research field of mathematics. In mathematical competitions, problems of elementary number theory occur frequently. These problems use little knowledge and have many variations. They are flexible and diverse. In this book, the author introduces some basic concepts and methods in elementary number theory via problems in mathematical competitions. Readers are encouraged to try to solve the problems by themselves before they read the given solutions of examples. Only in this way can they truly appreciate the tricks of problem-solving.

Book Description
Friendly Chemistry is a truly unique approach to teaching introductory chemistry. Used by home schoolers and charter, public and private school students world-wide for over ten years, Friendly Chemistry presents what is often considered an intimidating subject as a genuinely fun, enjoyable experience. Whether you're a high-school aged student needing a lab science course or a "non-traditional" student looking for a refresher course to help you prepare for an upcoming entrance exam, Friendly Chemistry can help you accomplish your goal in a "painless" way! If you do have aspirations of a future in a science field, Friendly Chemistry can give you the solid foundation you need to succeed in subsequent courses.Friendly Chemistry was written using simple language and a host of analogies to make learning (and teaching!) chemistry easy. The chemistry concepts presented in Friendly Chemistry are NOT watered-down. The concepts are just explained in ways that are readily understood by most learners. Coupled with these explanations is a host of teaching aids, labs and games which makes the learning concrete and multi-sensory. Students find the course fun and painless. Parents often comment, "I wish I had had this when I was taking chemistry. Now it all makes so much sense!" Friendly Chemistry covers the same topics taught in traditional high school chemistry courses. The course begins with an introduction to atomic theory followed by discussion of why the elements are arranged the way they are in the periodic table. Quantum mechanics comes next using the acclaimed "Doo-wop" Board as a teaching aid. Next comes a discussion of how atoms become charged (ionization), followed by an explanation of how charged atoms make compounds. The mole is introduced next, followed by a discussion of chemical reactions. Stoichiometry (predicting amounts of product produced from a reaction) is treated next followed by a discussion of solutions (molarity). The course is wrapped up with a discussion of the ideal gas laws. Please note that this is the STUDENT EDITION. Volumes 1 and 2 of the TEACHER"S EDITION must be purchased separately in order to have all materials necessary to complete this chemistry course. More information regarding Friendly Chemistry including answers to many frequently asked questions may be found at www.friendlychemistry.com.
