Book Description
In this part of the Series, The Wizard Without a Wand, we follow the story of a Wand as it searches for its Wizard. For every Wand has a particular Wizard, just as every Wizard has a particular Wand. Indeed, when a Wizard uses a Wand, they become indistinguishable. Just how did this Wand come to be? How did it end up in the Underground City? How does its story interweave with that of Shmedley Thrumbledack who is the Wizard Without a Wand. Rating G; Reading Level Easy 5th Grade; Longest Word: Indistinguishable This Wand’s name is Accoustical Light. I don’t know if every Wand has a name. But why not, if they’re as important as Wizards? Not just any Wand will work for Shmedley Thrumbledack. For he’s not just a Wizard, he’s a magical being. And only a magical being can make a Wand for a magical being? So, who would have made it? Accoustical Light’s story starts 400 years ago with Professor Malkius Wontlemoot, the last Professor of Wandmaking. After Malkius stopped teaching to wander the countryside, Wandmaking was no longer taught in Wizard Schools. This was much to the relief of several students. Instead, Wands were made by guilds. And only apprentices were taught how to make Wands. Accoustical Light and Shmedley Thrumbledack come close to meeting each other, but in the end, it’s only through a strange twist of events, that they wind up together.

The Wind's on the Horizon: Just Over the Edge

Pages : 88
Book Description
Another of my mystical poetry books in the series: The Language of the Wind. In this book, we look at things from the horizon. But the horizon is just another way of saying the edge. Sometimes when looking at things from the edge, it's the edge of getting happy or the edge of going crazy. Sometimes you're pulled back from the brink just in time. In this book there are White Water Journeys, the Outer Wondrousness, the Perihelion of Bliss, Dreamscapes and Funnels, Wisdom, Cunning, and Loneliness, Rhythms on the Brink, the Inner Marvel, and Heart Tonic. Then we get really close with Approaching the Edge, perhaps a little too closely. Instilling the Edge, You can't get closer than this. Of course that's only true until you do. Then you're on the Far Edge of the Horizon. I've also included a couple of mystical short stories - Miguelito: The smallest sueno (dream). That Hole Inside You, featuring your favorite striped mammal - Skunk. Mystics try to describe the indescribable with words. They bring you in touch with the spiritual world. Some mystical writing is hard to understand. I'd like to think that mine is easy. And some of it is very humorous. Of course, what could be more spiritual than chocolate? I've included two poems on that. Rating G. Reading Level: Very Easy 4th Grade. Longest Word: Tremendousness

Harry, A History - Now Updated with J.K. Rowling Interview, New Chapter & Photos
Author: Melissa Anelli
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
ISBN: 1416594051
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 371
Book Description
A new enhanced e-book edition, featuring an extended transcript from Melissa Anelli's exclusive interview with J. K. Rowling and a new, updated chapter! Melissa Anelli wears a ring that was a gift to her from J.K. Rowling, given as a measure of appreciation for the work she does on The Leaky Cauldron, where her job entails being a fan, reporter, guardian, and spokesperson for the Harry Potter series. For ten years, millions of fans have lived inside literary history, the only fans to know what it was like when Harry Potter was unfinished. When anticipation for a book was just as likely to cause a charity drive as a pistol shootout. When millions of rabid fans looked to friends, families, neighbors, forums, discussion groups, fan fiction and podcasts to get their fix between novels. When the death of a character was a hotter bet than who'd win the World Series. When one series of books had the power to change the way books are read. This has been a time when a book was more popular than movies, television, and video games. The series has spawned a generation of critical thinkers and new readers. The New York Times changed the way it reported book sales just to avoid a continual overpowering of its bestseller list. These events must be given their proper context, and this moment must be preserved. The series will remain important to literature and pop culture, but the experience will change. Harry's fate will be as commonly known as the identity of Luke Skywalker's father, and readers who never had to wait for a Harry Potter book will have no idea what transpired when the series had hundreds of millions of people waiting desperately for the next volume. We are the first wave of Harry Potter fans, the ones that are living in the time that shapes how Harry Potter will be remembered for all time. But when this era is over, fans will need some way to remember this strange, wonderful, dizzying experience. Future fans, too, will want to know what they missed. Harry Potter will exist as a seven-book series, but without the indivisible story of the cultural, literary and emotional impact the series has made, the story is incomplete. How can a fan understand Harry Potter without hearing about the midnight book parties, the scams, the theories, the burglaries, the bets, the bannings, and most importantly, the worldwide camaraderie spurred on by mutual love of a boy wizard? How can they know how Harry Potter changed and touched the lives of so many without hearing it first hand? Harry, A History tells this story. It tells the personal story of Melissa Anelli's journey through the very heart of Harry Potter fandom. And wraps this phenomenon up into one narrative, factual volume – one book that tells what happened when Harry Potter met the world.

Just Like Down Home
Author: Dale Stubbart
Publisher: Dale Stubbart
ISBN:
Category : Family & Relationships
Languages : en
Pages : 24
Book Description
Just like down home is a phrase my Grandpa said a lot. It’s a fancy way of saying everything went just fine. My Grandpa had a lot of phrases which he said repeated quite often. Some people call them Hillbilly phrases. But as my Grandpa said, he was a Mountain William, not a Hill Billy. My favorite phrase of his was his response when asked how he was. Why I’m fine as a frog’s hair and twice as curly. In this story, Joel September’s life is not going that great. He’s stuck in a job he really hates, but it pays the bills. But then a crisis happens, one which starts his life flowing in a much better direction. And Joel starts to be aware that very soon his life is going to be just like down home! Tonight Joel had no worries. Things were about to change for the better, he could feel it in his bones. “The toe bone’s connected to the … foot bone”, Joel began to sing to himself. Well his singing wasn’t perfect. It was off-key as usual. It was nice to know he was still human. Joel left the sidewalk and continued on across a field of grass. He kept one eye to the ground, on the lookout for presents left by stray dogs. But somehow, he couldn’t focus on the ground tonight. His spirits were just too high. Pretty soon, Joel felt like he was walking on air. It was a wonderful feeling, to feel like you were floating. Joel walked past the Pearly Gates, where St Peter had just posted a “No Trespassing” sign. Joel laughed at the sign and called out, “Very funny Pete”, as he walked by. “I thought you’d enjoy it”, St Peter called back, and then hurried to take the sign back down. Heaven wouldn’t be Joel’s destination tonight, nor for a long time to come. He had too much going right for him on earth. And soon, very soon, things would be going so much more rightly. The Dzhardes: The Horror Beyond Hell
Author: Dale Stubbart
Publisher: Dale Stubbart
ISBN:
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 46
Book Description
Be warned! They say that some people would walk through hell for love. Would you? Well maybe you would, you’re just crazy enough to do something so foolish as that. But how many horrors would someone be willing to face for love? And why, oh why, would she travel to the home of the Dzhardes? They aren’t even lovable! But she did. And believe it or not, so might you. Fair warning in advance. This is not a pretty story. Yes, it is a romance. Though, if it’s a romance that you’re looking for, you might want to try other books of mine in that genre. As a rule, I don’t write horror stories. Life is scary enough without hearing about horror. And I, for one, don’t like to scare myself silly. However, this tale came to me begging to be told. And it had just enough romance in it that I didn’t reject it outright. So if you want to see just how far somebody would go for love or if you want to raise your adrenaline levels, this book will do the trick. I’ve tried not to make it too scary. And I’ve omitted the most frightening parts. After all, I wouldn’t want you to have nightmares for the rest of your life.
