NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER • A TODAY SHOW #ReadWithJenna BOOK CLUB PICK! • Finalist for the WOMEN'S PRIZE Yaa Gyasi's stunning follow-up to her acclaimed national best seller Homegoing is a powerful, raw, intimate, deeply layered novel about a Ghanaian family in Alabama. Gifty is a sixth-year PhD candidate in neuroscience at the Stanford University School of Medicine studying reward-seeking behavior in mice and the neural circuits of depression and addiction. Her brother, Nana, was a gifted high school athlete who died of a heroin overdose after an ankle injury left him hooked on OxyContin. Her suicidal mother is living in her bed. Gifty is determined to discover the scientific basis for the suffering she sees all around her. But even as she turns to the hard sciences to unlock the mystery of her family's loss, she finds herself hungering for her childhood faith and grappling with the evangelical church in which she was raised, whose promise of salvation remains as tantalizing as it is elusive. Transcendent Kingdom is a deeply moving portrait of a family of Ghanaian immigrants ravaged by depression and addiction and grief—a novel about faith, science, religion, love. Exquisitely written, emotionally searing, this is an exceptionally powerful follow-up to Gyasi's phenomenal debut.

Book Description
The transcendent function is the core of Carl Jung's theory of psychological growth and the heart of what he called individuation, the process by which one is guided in a teleological way toward the person one is meant to be. This book thoroughly reviews the transcendent function, analyzing both the 1958 version of the seminal essay that bears its name and the original version written in 1916. It also provides a word-by-word comparison of the two, along with every reference Jung made to the transcendent function in his written works, his letters, and his public seminars.

Book Description
Cosmic Reconciliation contains two other volumes: The All-Oneness of God and The Living Christ Consciousness. All three volumes are concerned with the reconciliation of all things through ones Christ Self unto the the God Self of the many within the one. If you can bear to hear now what many could not bear to hear two thousand years ago, you will not want to miss the good news of the reconciliation of all things unto God. To see the Christ as is, is to come to see God as God is, not what either might appear to be. The reconciliation of all things unto God is the reconciliation of an infinity of many unto the One, for the one and the many are realized to be two parts of the same thing. Now is the time to take responsibility for what you are in God, for now we can see how that an infinity of many share that responsibility with us. And in that sense, the burden is considered to be light (not heavy) burden.

Book Description
Seventeen-year-old Lessie Morrison has endured her fair share of car accidents, falls, and house fires, but not in the ways one would think. She is gifted with the unique-and unwanted-ability to leave her body behind as her spirit assists a departing soul to The Other Side if they're dying alone. As if high school isn't hard enough for an unpopular teen. The passing of her only mentor, her grandmother, who happened to share her ability, leaves Lessie with nobody to answer her endless questions as she navigates life with her strange ability. Especially the questions that arise when she's faced with a rather serious situation of being called to a reluctant soul: can she bring someone back to their body, and defy death? As it would turn out, she can. But coming back from the dead comes with a cost-not only a broken body, but broken dreams. Lessie is faced with the question: was bringing someone back to life their second chance, or did she meddle in cosmic forces she should have known better than to touch?

Book Description
The volume contains contributions dedicated to the person and the work of Shalva Nutsubidze and his scholarly interests: the Christian Orient from the fifth to the seventh century, the Georgian eleventh century, the Neoplatonic philosopher Ioane Petritsi and his epoch and Shota Rustaveli and mediaeval Georgian culture. Among the articles are a new edition and translation of the original Georgian author’s Preface to the lost Commentary on the Psalms by Ioane Petritsi and the editio princeps with an English translation of an epistle of Nicetas Stethatos (eleventh century), whose Greek original is lost. The traditions of Georgian mediaeval thought are considered in their historical context within the Byzantine Commonwealth and are traced in both philosophy and poetry.

Book Description
The Shortening of the Days contains two other volumes: The Children of Eternal Day and The Garden of Eternity. All three volumes are concerned with the unsearchable, indescribable wisdom of God, and the Everlasting Gospel of one’s being in God. They lead one to an understanding that is beyond understanding, revealing the nature of one’s transcendent being that comes to understand without understanding.
The reconciliation of all things unto the eternal Day of God is the reconciliation of an infinity of many unto the One, for the one and the many are realized to be two parts of the same thing. Now is the time to take responsibility for what you are in God, for now we can see how that an infinity of many share that responsibility with us. And in that sense, the burden is considered to be light (not heavy) burden.
The return to the Garden of Eternity is the return to one’s original starting point with the awareness of how one got there, a conscious entry, as it were, back to the core of being from out of the realm of duality, of separation.

Book Description
This Book as well as all other books and manuscripts, published or yet unpublished, written by the author, began after a dream experience in which I was encouraged to write. At that time, it didn’t seem possible that I could do such a thing. However, after other inner and outer experiences having taken place, the process of writing began. Although, at first, I wasn’t sure of what I would be writing about, for the writings were somehow inspired. One dream experience, of which one is not likely to forget, is the one where a being of an higher inner realm whispered in my ear, saying, “you are chosen.” But what for? I wasn’t sure at that time. Another similar dream was one in which I was given the WORD to bring back. Again, at that time, I wasn’t sure what that meant. However, after several manuscripts were written and reread by me, things began to fit into place. That is, the dream experiences were becoming a reality. Although the writings must speak for themselves, I feel now that I was chosen to present the WORD, the WORD of the Transonic Consciousness, which is the WORD embracing the realm of the end and the beginning of a cycle of time. The Transonic WORD, then, is the WORD that takes in the harvesting of a previous cycle of time, and the WORD for the beginning of a new cycle of time. Therefore, the WORD is the everlasting WORD, the everlasting gospel, as it were. Inasmuch as the WORD is the everlasting WORD, it is backed by an infinity of beings within the inner and outer realms of being.

Book Description
A full translation of an important Mahāyāna Buddhist treatise with a commentary by the famous Tibetan luminary Jamgön Mipham. A monumental work and Indian Buddhist classic, the Ornament of the Mahāyāna Sūtras (Mahāyānasūtrālaṃkāra) is a precious resource for students wishing to study in-depth the philosophy and path of Mahāyāna Buddhism. This full translation and commentary outlines the importance of Mahāyāna, the centrality of bodhicitta or the mind of awakening, the path of becoming a bodhisattva, and how one can save beings from suffering through skillful means. This definitive composition of Mahāyāna teachings was imparted in the fourth century by Maitreya to the famous adept Asaṅga, one of the most prolific writers of Buddhist treatises in history. Asaṅga’s work, which is among the famous Five Treatises of Maitreya, has been studied, commented upon, and taught by Buddhists throughout Asia ever since it was composed. In the early twentieth century, one of Tibet’s greatest scholars and saints, Jamgön Mipham, wrote A Feast of the Nectar of the Supreme Vehicle, which is a detailed explanation of every verse. This commentary has since been used as the primary blueprint for Tibetan Buddhists to illuminate the depth and brilliance of Maitreya’s pith teachings. The Padmakara Translation Group has provided yet another accessible and eloquent translation, ensuring that English-speaking students of Mahāyāna will be able to study this foundational Buddhist text for generations to come.
