The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, launched in 2015, provides a blueprint for shared prosperity in a sustainable world. This report examines overall world progress made towards key goals of the agenda, including ending poverty and hunger, improving health and ending preventable diseases, equality of access to education, equality for women and girls, access to water and sanitation, access to affordable and sustainable energy, improving inclusive and sustainable economic growth and decent work, making cities inclusive and safe, ensuring sustainable consumption and production, and combatting climate change. This 2018 report highlights progress in many areas of the Agenda, including for maternal mortality, under-five mortality, child marriage, access to electricity, and sustainable consumption. However, the report also highlights areas where progress is insufficient to meet the Agenda's goals and targets by 2030, especially for the most disadvantaged and marginalised groups.
