In order to eliminate a possible kidney lesion a pyelogram was made which did not furnish any evidence of value. The patient was continued under observation with a prob able diagnosis of fibroid of the mesentery. He continued to lose weight and strength, until up to the time of operation he had lost about 50 pounds in weight and was in such weakened con dition that he had to give up his work.
