Book Description
This anthology is a collection of the work of various poets from all over the world. By reading these diverse works, we hope that people will become more understanding, compassionate, and empathetic towards all people. Additionally, we hope that this poetry makes the deepest kind of personal impression upon its readers. Those whose works appear in this anthology have decided to publish their poetic works under a title published by PoetrySoup and Arczis Web Technologies, Inc. Special permission has been obtained for each copyrighted poem in this volume, and the right to publish has been explicitly given to the publisher of this anthology by the respective poets. While most of the poems within have been submitted by the poet, the editors of this publication have chosen which poems to include. Over 1600 poems were submitted, but only around 600 were chosen for inclusion. In this anthology, which is the first one produced by PoetrySoup.com, we have followed an arrangement that represents some of the more popular poems on the PoetrySoup.com website. Instead of an arbitrary selection by PoetrySoup's editors, each poet member has been permitted to represent himself by the work he considers his best, with few stipulations. PoetrySoup editors then decided what should be printed and what omitted, but, as a general rule, the poets have been allowed absolute freedom in their choice of inclusion.

Spam: A Satire on E-Sex

Languages : en
Pages : 58
Book Description
This is book is only for adults. Spam has stirred up the set up of the software specialists and is posing persistent and perennial problem pertaining to profession of Internet. According to data collected on the menace of spam, it costs businesses of wastage around the world about $10billion a year to deal with. This estimate incorporates the time it takes the people to delete the messages, the cost of buying larger email servers and storage systems to cope with in-boxes flooded with the messages and the cost of having staff to get rid of networks overloaded by spam. Even more fatal and endangering is the innocent children falling victim to porn-spam which is 85% of total spams sent or received. This figure itself shows that, in the era of computer, it seems very difficult to keep the child away from danger in disguise.Initially when I was unaware of why and whereabouts of spam, I used to read each and every spam with avid interest. Many times I was on the verge of being swindled and cheated though it's another thing every time I have had miraculous or narrow escape. Interestingly and surprisingly, in the course of reading these spams, a sudden idea had cropped up in my mind and I decided to write a satire to make a mockery of spammers. At many places I have to exaggerate and manipulate the theme to make the poem more arresting, interesting and satiric. The main motive behind writing this poem is to bring entertainment and enlightenment to the life, ridden with long line of pressure, stress, tension, anxiety and depression. I apologizes the readers for using some erotic and pornographic terminologies but they stand nowhere vis-à-vis online pornography with which people encountered and confronted with. All the characters, places or incidents are fictitious in this poem and bear no resemblance with anybody living or dead.

American Poetry Since 1970
Author: Andrei Codrescu
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Poetry

Pages : 644
Book Description
This anthology is obsessed with reputations: Frank O'Hara is praised in several poems, while Robert Lowell is derided in one as an "Old White-haired Coot." However, the poetry itself is exciting, with the hopped-up, feverish quality suggested by this anthology's subtitle. It is also a reliable guide to alternative poetic strategies. ISBN 0-941423-03-4: $17.95; ISBN 0-941423-04-2 (pbk.): $11.95.
