Book Description
The Catastrophe Theology is a theology learned by Francis Kai throughout the years he was thrown into the Valley of Achor. Although he had been a Catholic from ten years old, Francis did not know to receive grace from God in deep suffering when his wife, Martha, was diagnosed with brain cancer. During his search for spiritual help, Francis discovered Martin Luther was the first theologian to preach suffering. Luthers doctrine of justification by faith alone is the doctrine of salvation by grace alone through faith alone. Grace is the free gift of God to mankind. A Christian must learn the way to receive grace through his faith in Christ. Francis learned to receive grace by learning Luthers teaching: Submit totally to God. He was transformed from living his church life to Christian life. God calls us to bear great fruit for his glory in this suffering world. Francis learned the verse of John 14:12 from Pastor Scott Scruggs to do greater things than Jesus by telling his readers about the theology of suffering. A church that does not preach suffering is not Gods church. Francis learned to be a godly man from living a life in doctrine.

Book Description
Martin Luther's theological revolution depended in a significant part upon the distinction between law and gospel. Within the last hundred years, several authors have reevaluated the reformer's understanding of this paradigm in light of its development within the Lutheran orthodox tradition. Some authors have argued that the Lutheran scholastic view of God's law departs from that of Luther. Specifically, it is contended that the Lutheran orthodox argued for a definition of the law which defines it as God's eternal will in contradiction to Luther's approach, wherein the law is defined almost exclusively in negative terms, as a temporal order to eventually be replaced and superseded by the gospel. In this work, Jordan Cooper argues for the continued validity of the Lutheran orthodox definition of the law. Throughout this text, he contrasts the perspective of Radical Lutheran theologians, like Gerhard Forde, with that of earlier Lutheran writers such as Martin Chemnitz and Johann Gerhard. It is argued that Forde's view is inadequate to address contemporary ethical and pastoral issues, and that the Lutheran scholastic doctrine of the law as God's eternal will remains a necessary concept for the contemporary church.

Book Description
Is the Doctrine of Biblical Inerrancy Biblical? While theologians throughout church history have condemned numerous doctrines as heresy, Cragun boldly declares that the doctrine of biblical inerrancy is the worst heresy that the church has ever faced, resulting in the undermining of central teachings of Jesus. Treating the Bible as the inerrant word of God often eclipses the very real dimensions of hermeneutics, that is, the who, how, and why of biblical interpretation and translation. After twenty-five years of detailed research in libraries based in six major universities and seminaries, Cragun has distilled his work in this book to challenge Christians who hold up inerrancy as a key tenant of the faith.

Book Description
"Christian spirituality is, quite simply, following Jesus. It is the ordinary life of faith in which we receive Baptism, attend the Divine Service, participate in the Holy Supper, read the Scriptures, pray for ourselves and others, resist temptation, and work with Jesus in our given location here on earth." - from the Introduction The longing for spiritual fulfillment, inevitably paired with spiritual frustration, is common among Christians. Do we read and study the Bible enough? Do we worship often and in the right way? Do we pray enough, in the correct way, and for the right things? How do we become truly spiritual? And the answers from numerous self-help spirituality books only lead to confusion and the fear of missing key steps on the road to becoming spiritual. In response, John W. Kleinig clarifies that there is no process for becoming spiritual. Instead, God graciously gives to us every spiritual gift that we need, beginning with the very gift of faith in Christ, our Savior. Because God has joined us to Christ, He continually comes to give us life.
