Book Description
My name is Maria and you may want to judge me — find me wanting, but I need love just like you do. I’m a woman of means with a profession and an independent income. I know how to spend my husband’s money so my lifestyle is probably more lavish than yours and you think it should make me happy. Money does not guarantee that the heart is satisfied and there is no happiness unless the heart is full. He intrigued me, and the more I learned about him, the more I wanted to know. I stayed with my husband out of habit — we occupy the same space, but we live independent lives. I don’t make him happy, and he barely knows I’m alive. To fall in love at my age is a wonder in itself. I know he loves me, but it’s not that simple. First, he must decide what he wants, and if I’m lucky, that will be me.

Second chance romance please! Sometimes the only place left to go is home. Kara Martinson always thought her high school crush was out of her league, but they did share one night she’s never been able to forget. Nearly three decades after being disowned by her parents and forced to raise her son on her own, Kara’s made it—her art is being toasted at a gallery opening. Even better, she and her son are finally on stable ground. Until Mr. One-Night Stand himself crashes her party. Harry Canton always knew Kara would make it as an artist. Almost thirty years after high school, he still considers her the one that got away. But the surprise reunion doesn’t quite go to plan when Harry discovers he left her with more than just memories when he went away to college. Desperate to connect with the family he never knew existed, Harry convinces his son to move cross country for a fresh start with his father—and pleads with Kara to come home, too. Kara hasn’t stepped foot in their hometown since the day she was sent away. But her son desperately wants the father he never had and denying him that may cost her everything. Can love heal old heartaches so Harry and Kara can have a second chance at the future they were robbed of so long ago? Or will the pain of the past be too much to face? The Road Leads Back can be read as a standalone which is part of an overarching six book Stonehill Series. It is a sweet, second chance, small town romance from your new favorite author Marci Bolden. If a charming, sweet second chance romance story that reconnects hero and heroine after years and years apart sounds like your idea of a good time . . . this book is for you! Guaranteed HEA & No Cheating. What readers are saying about The Road Leads Back: “This is a heartfelt tale of second, and third, chances. Kara and Harry liked each other when they were in school together, but were both too shy to approach or tell one another. They spent one night together that irrevocably changed Kara's life. Instead of college, she was homeless and sent to a community for unwed mothers. She learned to survive and raise her son, Phil. Twenty-seven years later, Harry reunites with Kara and is floored by the news he missed his son's life. Harry wants to reconnect and convinces Kara and Phil to return to her hometown. The hometown she never returned to after being forced away and hurt by those adults in whom she should have had support. Everyone has much to be angry about and no one can seem to keep their tempers. Read this journey through the pain, anger, and maybe enough forgiveness for those third chances.” (5/5) – Coral Mitchell “The Road Leads Back is the first book I've read from this author and most certainly won't be the last. Book Description
Do you practice garage theology? Garage theology is common in today's churches. Some practice it without knowing what it is. A simple definition would be "going to church makes someone a Christian." This is no more logical than believing going into a garage will make someone a Cadillac. This delusional premise is convincingly debunked within this book. The lone traveler is perplexed. Why is he alone so much of the time while such crowds pack the city? Why is the wilderness the way to know God? Here is a classic retelling of the quest of all humanity-to understand the mystery of life. Our unidentified traveler has bouts of certainty interspersed with doubts. The hardships are real; the goal is eternal. He is faced with tests. He is deceived, but he recovers. He struggles to maintain the main thing as the main thing. As a journey of adventure, surprise, hardship, and ultimate triumph, it is an accurate picture of life in the spirit. Finally, the reader is confronted with the question: What is revival? Two options are presented. Which is reality? A time will come when instead of shepherds feeding the sheep, the church will have clowns entertaining the goats. -Charles H. Spurgeon 25

Book Description
TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year: Pope Francis Learn about the First Jesuit Pope from America’s Leading Jesuit Publisher “Pope Francis by Chris Lowney is that rare and splendid work that leaves you keenly excited and spiritually moved. The writing is lucid, vivid, inviting, and rich. It’s a major achievement. I strongly recommend it to any Christian in a leadership role.” - Joseph Tetlow, SJ From choosing to live in a simple apartment instead of the papal palace to washing the feet of men and women in a youth detention center, Pope Francis’s actions contradict behaviors expected of a modern leader. Chris Lowney, a former Jesuit seminarian turned Managing Director for JP Morgan & Co., shows how the pope’s words and deeds reveal spiritual principles that have prepared him to lead the Church and influence our world—a rapidly-changing world that requires leaders who value the human need for love, inspiration, and meaning. Drawing on interviews with people who knew him as Father Jorge Bergoglio, SJ, Lowney challenges assumptions about what it takes to be a great leader. In so doing, he reveals the “other-centered” leadership style of a man whose passion is to be with people rather than set apart. Lowney offers a stirring vision of leadership to which we can all aspire in our communities, churches, companies, and families.

Book Description
The Way of Improvement Leads Home traces the short but fascinating life of Philip Vickers Fithian, one of the most prolific diarists in early America. Born to Presbyterian grain-growers in rural New Jersey, he was never quite satisfied with the agricultural life he seemed destined to inherit. Fithian longed for something more—to improve himself in a revolutionary world that was making upward mobility possible. While Fithian is best known for the diary that he wrote in 1773-74 while working as a tutor at Nomini Hall, the Virginia plantation of Robert Carter, this first full biography moves beyond his experience in the Old Dominion to examine his inner life, his experience in the early American backcountry, his love affair with Elizabeth Beatty, and his role as a Revolutionary War chaplain. From the villages of New Jersey, Fithian was able to participate indirectly in the eighteenth-century republic of letters—a transatlantic intellectual community sustained through sociability, print, and the pursuit of mutual improvement. The republic of letters was above all else a rational republic, with little tolerance for those unable to rid themselves of parochial passions. Participation required a commitment to self-improvement that demanded a belief in the Enlightenment values of human potential and social progress. Although Fithian was deeply committed to these values, he constantly struggled to reconcile his quest for a cosmopolitan life with his love of home. As John Fea argues, it was the people, the religious culture, and the very landscape of his "native sod" that continued to hold Fithian's affections and enabled him to live a life worthy of a man of letters.

Book Description
During the June 2020 territorial dispute over Kalapani, India blamed tensions on a newly assertive Nepal's deepening relations with China. But beyond the accusations and grandstanding, this reflects a new reality: the power equations in South Asia have been redrawn, to make space for China. Nepal did not turn northwards overnight. Its ties with China have deep historical roots built on Buddhism, dating to the early first millennium. While India's unofficial 2015 blockade provided momentum to the rift with Delhi, Nepal has long wanted deeper ties with Beijing, to counteract India's oppressive intimacy. With China's growing South Asian and global ambitions, Nepal now has a new primary bilateral partner-and Nepalis are forging a path towards modernity with its help, both in the remote borderlands and in the cities. All Roads Lead North offers a long view of Nepal's foreign relations, today underpinned by China's world-power status. Sharing never- before-told stories about Tibetan guerrilla fighters, failed coup leaders and trans- Himalayan traders, Nepal analyst Amish Raj Mulmi examines the histories binding mountain communities together across the Sino-Nepali border. Part history, part journalistic account, Mulmi's is a complex, compelling and rigorously researched study of a small country caught between two neighbourhood giants.
