Dr. Ingram needs no introduction to our students of economics. The present treatise deserves especial notice, as the first serious attempt by a properly qualified English writer to present a view of the progress of economic thought The works of M'Culloch and Twiss on the same subject were of value only because there was nothing else on the same topic.
