Book Description
The vision that culture has historically offered about reality has failed to help humans to live fully or to achieve their potential. A knowledge revolution has been taking place in recent years that, once it is understood, can completely transform human beings, offering new solutions to personal and collective problems because their root causes have been identified at last. What we now know means that we can understand spiritual truths and their multiple dimensions without abandoning rationality. This new vision is strong enough to put an end to human suffering and boost inner peace, which is for what every being human yearns. New science sees an intelligent design in the whole Universe. Quantum physics has revolutionized our knowledge of reality. All scientists are now aware of the quantum "enigmas" but not everyone agrees on how to interpret them. This book offers an interpretation that might explain them, and one that is based on the idea of "science within consciousness". As you read the book, it will become evident that this interpretation most closely resembles the vision of reality that both the perennial wisdom of Humanity and the teachings of the great spiritual masters have offered us throughout history. The first part of the book outlines briefly what some of the leading thinkers on science and philosophy have to say about reality and how this new vision of the world is converging with what the perennial wisdom of Humanity has been saying throughout our history. The second part seeks to explain what can happen to us when we are exposed to this new knowledge and how all of us can change inside ourselves in the light of this information. This book aims to unite, not divide, helping Humanity to raise its level of consciousness, allowing us to live a higher quality life in accordance with our spiritual dimension.

Book Description
THE NEW PARADIGM IN CONSCIOUSNESS AND PSYCHOLOGY is a sampler with 53 bestselling books reviewed. Among the reviewed authors are Joseph Campbell, Deepak Chopra, Françoise Dolto, Mircea Eliade, Stanislav Grof, J. Krishnamurti, Alexander Lowen, Terence McKenna, Ralph Metzner, Thomas Moore, Michel Odent, O. Carl Simonton, Hal and Sidra Stone, Dora van Gelder and Alberto Villoldo, to name only these. These reviews took quite a long time to be realized. Some of them were the fruit of work already twenty years ago, when the author first came to discover the writings of J. Krishnamurti, Alexander Lowen and Françoise Dolto. Since then, the author proceeded in reading works of other experts in the fields of consciousness, psychology, healing and spirituality. The process usually starts with simply marking the text with a pen, then typing these quotes, once the book is read, in the computer. From the quotes then, and the memory of the book as a whole, the author drafted the reviews. They are markedly different from usual book reviews, both as to their depth of content and their size. To remain as objective as possible, the author usually doesn't paraphrase content, but prefers to quote the author's own diction. This may seem uncanny, but when you think about it, it's the only way to give authenticity to a book review, for nobody else than the author himself can really express what he or she was saying.Usually book reviews are short and to the point, but that is exactly why they are most of the time very subjective and often abounding of criticism, and comparisons that are hard to verify. Books that have no interest for a serious reader or that are badly written are not reviewed by the author. They do not figure in this sampler that present content-rich books from more or less famous authors who both excel in their expertise and their writing skills. The sampler thereby shows the larger picture of a new worldview that is forming right now and for the next decade to come, a worldview that is essentially different from the one that reigned under the Pisces Age. Most of the books reviewed present one or the other novelty approach to the subject treated, which makes their uniqueness and the quality of their content. The volume comes with a glossary and an extensive bibliography.

Book Description
Ervin Laszlo's tour de force, What is Reality?, is the product of a half-century of deep contemplation and cutting-edge scholarship. Addressing many of the paradoxes that have confounded modern science over the years, it offers nothing less than a new paradigm of reality, one in which the cosmos is a seamless whole, informed by a single, coherent consciousness manifest in us all. Bringing together science, philosophy, and metaphysics, Laszlo takes aim at accepted wisdom, such as the dichotomies of mind and body, spirit and matter, being and nonbeing, to show how we are all part of an infinite cycle of existence unfolding in spacetime and beyond. Augmented by insightful commentary from a dozen scholars and thinkers, along with a foreword by Deepak Chopra and an introduction by Stanislav Grof, What is Reality? offers a fresh and liberating understanding of the meaning and purpose of existence.

Book Description
A comprehensive presentation of an approach that proposes a new account of cognition at levels from the cellular to the social. This book presents the framework for a new, comprehensive approach to cognitive science. The proposed paradigm, enaction, offers an alternative to cognitive science's classical, first-generation Computational Theory of Mind (CTM). Enaction, first articulated by Varela, Thompson, and Rosch in The Embodied Mind (MIT Press, 1991), breaks from CTM's formalisms of information processing and symbolic representations to view cognition as grounded in the sensorimotor dynamics of the interactions between a living organism and its environment. A living organism enacts the world it lives in; its embodied action in the world constitutes its perception and thereby grounds its cognition. Enaction offers a range of perspectives on this exciting new approach to embodied cognitive science. Some chapters offer manifestos for the enaction paradigm; others address specific areas of research, including artificial intelligence, developmental psychology, neuroscience, language, phenomenology, and culture and cognition. Three themes emerge as testimony to the originality and specificity of enaction as a paradigm: the relation between first-person lived experience and third-person natural science; the ambition to provide an encompassing framework applicable at levels from the cell to society; and the difficulties of reflexivity. Taken together, the chapters offer nothing less than the framework for a far-reaching renewal of cognitive science.
