Book Description
Dear All, In view that Vladimir Putin is increasingly indisposed, with a Political decoy taking his place, a Governmental Change in Russia is imperative; to stop the killing of innocent children in Putin's illegal war on Ukraine - which is a blatant violation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). I would like to emphasize, that I would be quite happy to drink a Водка together with my dear friend Vladimir Putin once he has agreed to officially resign. However, should I indeed come to Moscow and lead Россия into a new age of Peace and Prosperity, I want to make it perfectly clear that I don't want to get assassinated in the process: ) On that note, it should be mentioned that Assassination is one of the oldest tools of power politics. It dates back at least as far as recorded history. But regrettably Russia has not evolved beyond this negative and primitive political method yet - which is a problem, because then people are ruled by the apprehension to fear of injury or harm. And not by Liberty and Freedom - which I'm sure all Russian People aspire for: ) Nobody wants to be in fear of being assassinated; in particular good decent Russian People, who just want to engage in their democratic freedoms - such as Freedom of Press, Assembly, Association and Speech - as stipulated by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). So what's the problem in Russia? Why is the Putin regime preventing the People of Russia from having these Basic Freedoms? Indeed, it's a difficult question. But one problem may be, that key people in the Putin regime are afraid that they (and their family members), will fall victim to a witch-hunt once the Putin regime falls. Hence we are offering an Amnesty to the close allies of Vladimir Putin and military officers - to encourage them to end Putin's illegal war on Ukraine, that has cost countless of lives - so that International human rights law (IHRL) can be restored in the world. Book Description
The massive dimensions of Syria's refugee crisis—and the search for solutions The civil war in Syria has forced some 10 million people—more than half the country's population—from their homes and communities, creating one of the largest human displacements since the end of World War II. Daily headlines testify to their plight, both within Syria and in the countries to which they have fled. The Consequences of Chaos looks beyond the ever-increasing numbers of Syria's uprooted to consider the long-term economic, political, and social implications of this massive movement of people. Neighboring countries hosting thousands or even millions of refugees, Western governments called upon to provide financial assistance and even new homes for the refugees, regional and international organizations struggling to cope with the demands for food and shelter—all have found the Syria crisis to be overwhelming in its challenges. And the challenges of finding solutions for those displaced by the conflict are likely to continue for years, perhaps even for decades. The Syrian displacement crisis raises fundamental questions about the relationship between action to resolve conflicts and humanitarian aid to assist the victims and demonstrates the limits of humanitarian response, even on a massive scale, to resolve political crises. The increasingly protracted nature of the crisis also raises the need for the international community to think beyond just relief assistance and adopt developmental policies to help refugees become productive members of their host communities.

Book Description
In this pioneering work Siraj Sait and Hilary Lim address Islamic property and land rights, drawing on a range of socio-historical, classical and contemporary resources. They address the significance of Islamic theories of property and Islamic land tenure regimes on the 'webs of tenure' prevalent in the Muslim societies. They consider the possibility of using Islamic legal and human rights systems for the development of inclusive, pro-poor approaches to land rights. They also focus on Muslim women's rights to property and inheritance systems. Engaging with institutions such as the Islamic endowment (waqf) and principles of Islamic microfinance, they test the workability of 'authentic' Islamic proposals. Located in human rights as well as Islamic debates, this study offers a well researched and constructive appraisal of property and land rights in the Muslim world.

Book Description
The Amnesty International Report 2012 documents the state of human rights in 155 countries and territories in 2011. Throughout the year the demand for human rights resounded around the globe. The year began with protests in countries where freedom of expression and freedom of assemblywere routinely repressed. But by the end of the year, discontent and outrage at the failure of governments to ensure justice, security and human dignity had ignited protests across the world. A common strand linking these protests, whether in Cairo or New York, was how quick governments were to prevent peaceful protest and silence dissent. Those who took to the streets displayed immense courage in the face of often brutal crackdowns and overwhelming use of lethal force. In a year of unrest, transition and conflict, too many people are still denied their most basic rights. As demands for better governance and respect for human rights grow, this report shows that world leaders have yet to rise to the challenge.

Book Description
The post-World War II occupations of Germany and Japan set standards for postconflict nation-building that have not since been matched. Only in recent years has the United States has felt the need to participate in similar transformations, but it is now facing one of the most challenging prospects since the 1940s: Iraq. The authors review seven case studies--Germany, Japan, Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Afghanistan--and seek lessons about what worked well and what did not. Then, they examine the Iraq situation in light of these lessons. Success in Iraq will require an extensive commitment of financial, military, and political resources for a long time. The United States cannot afford to contemplate early exit strategies and cannot afford to leave the job half completed.
