Thomas Rowell, son of Valentine Rowell, was baptized 1594/95 at Mancetter, Warwickshire, England. He left his wife and family and immigrated to New England with his son, Valentine, in 1638. He settled at Salisbury, Massachusetts. After his wife in England died he married (2) 1650 Mrs. Margaret Fowler Osgood, daughter of Philip and Mary Winsley Fowler, and widow of Christopher Osgood (d. 1650). She married Christopher Osgood 1636 at Marlborough, County Wiltshire, England. Thomas Rowell died 1662 at Andover, Mass. Ancestry has been traced to Atherstone, County Warwickshire, England in 1560. Includes three unrelated Rowell families, who appear in the early records of Connecticut, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

Joseph Hull (1596-1665), his brother, emigrated in 1635 and died at York, Maine.
