The land is rocky, but good, rich grass land. His hen house is built of matched boards, shingled roof, sides, ends and front covered with M1 paper. This house is built on the scratch ing shed plan, two hundred feet long, twenty five feet wide, eight feet high in front four feet at back, making an gideal house for 300 fowls. He had large, roomy yards, but with the exception of two small plum trees not a vestige of shade. The house was provided with twenty windows and faced the south, the windows being all 'on the north side. Scattered all around were brooders and brooding houses in abundance. Everything showed that money had been invested lavishly. His wife told me that he had two good Prairie State Incuba tors, one 'goo and one 300 egg capacity.
