Book Description
Excerpt from The British Journal of Dermatology, Vol. 24: July, 1912 French dermatologists questioned Hebra's contention that the papules precede the itching. Vidal preferred to style the prurigo of Hebra as a lichen. Besnier included among the prurigos many other itching conditions which he separated from the eczema group, qualifying them all as diathetic prurigos, provoked or maintained by an abnormal mode of nutrition. Book Description
Excerpt from The British Journal of Dermatology, Vol. 23: September, 1911 The fact that some of these naevi may undergo certain degenera tive changes, and, as in the case here dealt with, take on a sarco matous development, is in my opinion in favour of their origin from embryonic connective-tissue cells. A further argument in support of this theory is the tendency (if this be indeed the case) for linear naevi to follow the course of the embryonic sutures rather than the lines of cleavage, the course of the blood-vessels or the distribution of cutaneous nerves. A small nodule was felt in the posterior part of the apex of the upper lobe. On section this nodule was found to be two fifths of an inch in diameter. It lay one eighth of an inch below the pleura. Its centre was soft and yellowish. In its periphery was a zone of injection. The rest of the cut surface of the lung was aerated and pink.
