Book Description
The Book of Jasher - Book of the Just - is a historical work of great value for those who seek to know more deeply the first biblical accounts. In general, it will present in parallel to the Pentateuch the events between the creation of the human being and the last days of Joshua's life. The Book of Jasher refers several times to the Book of the Law of the Lord (five first books of the Bible) and is mentioned directly in the Old Testament on two occasions, as we shall see below: "And the sun stood still, and the moon stood still, until the people were avenged on their enemies. Isn't this written in the book of Jasher? The sun therefore stood in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to set almost a whole day". (Joshua 10:13)"Telling them to teach the children of Judah how to use the bow... Behold, it is written in the book of Jasher." (2 Samuel 1:18)In addition to the biblical passages mentioned above, the New Testament has at least an indirect reference to the Book of the Just. In his second letter to Timothy, the apostle Paul states that difficult times will come in the last days, for "just as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so they also resist the truth, being corrupt men of understanding and reprobate about faith. (2 Timothy 3:8)Considering that these men are not explicitly mentioned anywhere else in the Holy Scriptures, it is possible to infer that Paul had read the Book of the Just One, for he knew the following passage contained therein: "And when they had gone, Pharaoh sent for Balaam the magician, and Yanes (Jannes) and Yambres (Jambres), his sons, and all the magicians and illusionists and counselors who belonged to the king, and they all came and sat before the king."(Book of the Just 79:27)It is important to emphasize that the chronology of the facts narrated in the Book of the Jasher is in harmony with other reliable historical sources, such as the Talmud and the Seder Olam Rabbah (book of Jewish dates). Furthermore, there are several biblical passages that are best understood through the comparative analysis of the parallel narratives found in the Book of the Jasher. One episode that illustrates in a very timely way the relevance of the Book of the Jasher and its usefulness for a better understanding of the biblical narratives is the journey of the patriarch Jacob and his encounter with Esau when he returned to the land of Canaan. There are relevant details in this passage that we find in the Book of the Jasher and that are not mentioned in the Holy Bible and vice versa.Explainig the Book of Jasher in the light of the Holy Bible proposes to constitute itself in this practical tool capable of helping the reader to promote a correct interrelationship between the historical content present in the Book of Jasher and the teachings of the Holy Bible

Book Description
The Book of Jasher, a lost book of the Bible comprising ninety-one chapters, is presented here complete in the celebrated 1840 English translation by Moses Samuel. Referenced twice in the New Testament scripture - once in Joshua and once in Second Samuel - the Book of Jasher is also known as the Sefer haYashar or the Book of the Upright. Its contents are wide-ranging; the creation of Man and the story of Adam and Eve, and the descendants of Noah comprise part of the text. The testing of Abraham by God also features, while Abraham's dialogue is notably expanded far beyond what is said in the Hebrew Bible. The text has gained a great following since its translation to English in the mid-19th century. The Church of Latter-Day Saints founder Joseph Smith praised its detail, noting the book's elaboration on the condition of the Earth following the Great Flood.

Book Description
The Book of Jasher is a secular history covering a period from the creation to the period of the Judges in Israel. Jasher is referenced in the Holy Bible twice by two different authors. Three versions of Jasher are purported copies of the 'Lost Book' and have been translated, but only this one is looked upon as authentic. The Prophet Joseph Smith quoted from this version in "Times and Seasons." The Book of Jasher is authentic, as it contains many specific details which are in agreement with modern revelation such as "The Book of Moses." Presented to you in this volume is the complete Book of Jasher with lessons and commentary.

Book Description
The Book of Jasher is referenced by God in the Holy Bible according to Joshua 10:13, 2 Samuel 1:18, and 2 Timothy 3:8. Jasher is a parallel account of the Biblical timespan from Genesis to the start of the Book of Judges. It fills in gaps and provides fascinating details while upholding the Biblical record. The Book of Jasher is an emotionally responsible narrative and helps make the men and women of the Bible more relatable and empathetic. Jasher also makes the Biblical events and situations more comprehensible. It is a fun book to read. This edition has been carefully and lovingly edited by Alan Lewis Silva. It is a large print edition, and it is organized according to the book's chapters in prose form instead of numbered verses. In a few places the translation of select words has been improved for accuracy.
