Book Description
If you thought your parenting responsibilities ended after eighteen years per child, you thought wrong. Instead, it's your privilege to lead your family-and influence succeeding generations-for a century...or more. Anchor Man presents the high calling of fatherhood, the traits of a Christian father, the adventures that await him as he interacts with his children, and the significance of his role as a good family man. Steve Farrar presents these roles and responsibilities in a way any man wanting to increase his understanding of his place in the family, and our society, can put into action every day. Anchor Man encourages, exhorts, and demonstrates with biblical concepts how to raise a godly family and how to anchor that family in Christ for the next one hundred years. Farrar's unique teaching style blends humor and practicality with the tools fathers need to become all that God intended them to be as the leaders of their families. "When a man gets serious about following Christ with his whole heart," Farrar says, "God desires to not only pour out His blessing on that man, but on his children, and his children's children.

Book Description
Communications and Multimedia Security is an essential reference for both academic and professional researchers in the fields of Communications and Multimedia Security. This state-of-the-art volume presents the proceedings of the Eighth Annual IFIP TC-6 TC-11 Conference on Communications and Multimedia Security, September 2004, in Windermere, UK. The papers presented here represent the very latest developments in security research from leading people in the field. The papers explore a wide variety of subjects including privacy protection and trust negotiation, mobile security, applied cryptography, and security of communication protocols. Of special interest are several papers which addressed security in the Microsoft .Net architecture, and the threats that builders of web service applications need to be aware of. The papers were a result of research sponsored by Microsoft at five European University research centers. This collection will be important not only for multimedia security experts and researchers, but also for all teachers and administrators interested in communications security.

Book Description
The amount of recent information collected about the molecular composition, structure, and function of the plasma lipoproteins, in man as well as in experimental animals, is very large. In this volume an assessment of our knowledge as it stands today has been organized within a framework of four general topics, the first about analytical data, the second about structure, the third about metab olism, and the last about molecular variation and pathology. Thus the analytical, theoretical, experimental, and applied aspects of the topic have been treated in conjunction with each other. The analytical data in human and nonhuman primates were obtained after ultracentrifugal or electrophoretic separation of the protein class from the native serum. Comparisons of various methods were not forgotten. The main categories of lipoproteins, namely High Density (HDL), Low Density (LDL), and Very Low Density (VLDL), are treated separately, and lipid moiety and the polypeptide moiety are carefully described. In the theoretical field of reassembly of lipoprotein particles by relipidizing delipidated polypeptides, the structural aspects of lipoprotein and the stabilizing effect of phospholipids on the poly peptide structure were studied. The opposite direction of the pro cess, namely degradation of a lipoprotein by means of lipolytic enzymes, has also been investigated and described.

Book Description
This dazzling anthology features the work of seventy-nine outstanding writers from all over the Arab-speaking world, from Morocco in the west to Iraq in the east, Syria in the north to Sudan in the south. Edited by Denys Johnson-Davies, called by Edward Said “the leading Arabic-to-English translator of our time,” this treasury of Arab voices is diverse in styles and concerns, but united by a common language. It spans the full history of modern Arabic literature, from its roots in western cultural influence at the end of the nineteenth century to the present-day flowering of Naguib Mahfouz’s literary sons and daughters. Among the Egyptian writers who laid the foundation for the Arabic literary renaissance are the great Tawfik al-Hakim; the short story pioneer Mahmoud Teymour; and Yusuf Idris, who embraced Egypt’s vibrant spoken vernacular. An excerpt from the Sudanese writer Tayeb Salih’s novel Season of Migration to the North, one of the Arab world’s finest, appears alongside the Libyan writer Ibrahim al-Koni’s tales of the Tuaregs of North Africa, the Iraqi writer Mohamed Khudayir’s masterly story “Clocks Like Horses,” and the work of such women writers as Lebanon’s Hanan al-Shaykh and Morocco’s Leila Abouzeid.
