Book Description
The Southern Delta River electromagnetic and magnetic airborne geophysical survey is located in interior Alaska in the Delta River mining district, about 200 kilometers southeast of Fairbanks. Frequency domain electromagnetic and magnetic data were collected with the DIGHEMV system from August to September 2002. A total of 2,902.8 line kilometers were collected covering 1001 square kilometers. Line spacing was 400 meters (m). Data were collected 30 m above the ground surface from a helicopter towed sensor platform ("bird") on a 30 m long line.

Book Description
The Nikolai electromagnetic and magnetic airborne geophysical survey is located in interior Alaska in the Delta River mining district, about 200 kilometers southeast of Fairbanks. Frequency domain electromagnetic and magnetic data were collected with the Aerodat Condor system in 1995. A total of 3412.8 line kilometers were collected covering 660.1 square kilometers. Line spacing was 200 meters (m). Data were collected on a helicopter towed sensor platform ("bird") on a 30 m long line. The electromagnetic equipment recorded data slightly above 30 m above ground level (AGL), and the magnetometer recorded data slightly above 45 m AGL due to safety considerations. The Nikolai data were provided to DGGS by the U.S. Department of Interior Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and were merged with the Southern Delta River survey (2002) as a contract deliverable. The 2003 release of the Southern Delta River survey included map sheets of the merged data.

Book Description
The Hetta geophysical survey is located in southeast Alaska in the Ketchikan area, about 350 kilometers south of Juneau, Alaska. Frequency domain electromagnetic and magnetic data were collected with the DIGHEMV system in May 1992. A total of 1,707 line kilometers were collected covering 323.3 square kilometers. Line spacing was 200 meters (m). Data were collected approximately 30 m above the ground cover or tree canopy from a helicopter-towed sensor platform ("bird") on a 30-m-long line. The large trees and steep terrain resulted in an average ground clearance of 150 m. The Hetta survey was flown for the American Copper & Nickel Company, Inc. and provided to DGGS by the Sealaska Corporation. The data were merged and released with the 1999 Ketchikan geophysical survey maps. Map sheets and some of the other files in this data release contain data from adjacent or nearby surveys.

Book Description
The airborne geophysical survey carried out at the Oak Ridge Reservation has shown that AEM can be used in evaluating details of waste areas. However, detection of small objects requires a flight altitude of 10-15 m which is impossible due to natural obstacles present in the Oak Ridge area. In these types of cases, data processing in the downward continuation allows to improve the survey resolution and a normalized gradient provides an additional information about the depth of buried objects.

Book Description
As part of the 200-PO-1 Phase I geophysical surveys, Fugro Airborne Surveys was contracted to collect airborne electromagnetic (EM) and magnetic surveys of the Hanford Site 600 Area. Two helicopter survey systems were used with the HeliGEOTEM{reg_sign} time domain portion flown between June 19th and June 20th, 2008, and the RESOLVE{reg_sign} frequency domain portion was flown from June 29th to July 1st, 2008. Magnetic data were acquired contemporaneously with the electromagnetic surveys using a total-field cesium vapor magnetometer. Approximately 925 line kilometers (km) were flown using the HeliGEOTEM{reg_sign} II system and 412 line kilometers were flown using the RESOLVE{reg_sign} system. The HeliGEOTEM system has an effective penetration of roughly 250 meters into the ground and the RESOLVE system has an effective penetration of roughly 60 meters. Acquisition parameters and preliminary results are provided in SGW-39674, Airborne Electromagnetic Survey Report, 200-PO-1 Groundwater Operable Unit, 600 Area, Hanford Site. Airborne data are interpreted in this report in an attempt to identify areas of likely preferential groundwater flow within the aquifer system based on the presence of paleochannels or fault zones. The premise for the interpretation is that coarser-grained intervals have filled in scour channels created by episodic catastrophic flood events during the late Pleistocene. The interpretation strategy used the magnetic field anomaly data and existing bedrock maps to identify likely fault or lineament zones. Combined analysis of the magnetic, 60-Hz noise monitor, and flight-altitude (radar) data were used to identify zones where EM response is more likely due to cultural interference and or bedrock structures. Cross-sectional and map view presentations of the EM data were used to identify more electrically resistive zones that likely correlate with coarser-grained intervals. The resulting interpretation identifies one major northwest-southeast trending preferential flowpath with several minor units running along a similar trend. This presumed path of preferential flow is compared with the tritium concentration levels observed for the 600 Area. Analysis of the magnetic field data shows the location of potential bedrock faults and lineaments which may influence the horizontal and vertical flow of water. Faults lying within, or in the vicinity of preferential groundwater flow paths may allow flow into or out of the otherwise confined basalt layers.
