Foam fractionation is an effective, low-cost, and environmentally friendly method for water treatment that is widely applied to the removal of hazardous materials, organic materials, and metal ions from the wastewater by using the surfactant as a collector. This type of process known as the adsorption bubble separation technique. It uses bubbles as a separation medium and concentrates the surfactant from its aqueous solution by the difference of adsorption properties of the surfactant on gas,Äìliquid interfaces. During the process of foam fractionation, it spared gas through the bottom of the column to create dispersed rising bubbles. They adsorbed the surfactant onto gas,Äìliquid interfaces of the rising bubbles. We discuss here separate Bovine Serum Albumin from aqueous solution with haemoglobin by foam fraction method. To investigate the effect of the following variables on the enrichment ratio of total protein, the separation process like concentration of feed, the effect of pH, and the Effect of gas flow rate.

The aim for this research is to produces protein separation tool by a new technique to separate protein molecule from protein solution. The technique used is the molecularly imprinted polymer, MIP. In this technique the target molecule that we want to separate will be the template and it mixed with selected monomers. Through polymerization process the template molecule will trapped between the polymer matrix that become solid and stable in term of heat and chemical. To make it has high selectivity on protein molecule the solid polymer is pounded to fine particles and through hydrolysis process the template is extracted and will leave complementary sequences that have exact configuration like the template shape. And further, two type of study were carried out, the first was analysis of particles structure in characterization of particles by using FT-IR spectrum and the second was study on the performances of this technique by conducting three experiments. The first experiment was the adsorption of BSA protein in MIP or synthesized polymer particles, the second experiment was the effect of protein concentration on separation and third experiment was to observe the effect of particles mass on separation. Polymerization and hydrolysis was successfully occur and it shown by the FT-IR spectrum. Experiment show that adsorption of protein was high for MIP particle that was 52.5 % while adsorption for NIP particle was 33.0 %. For the effect of concentration and mass of particle, it shows that the availability particle is the main factor that influence the amount of substrate separated.

"The goal of this investigation is to develop a reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic method to separate ovalbumin (OVA) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) proteins and to quantify BSA protein in its raw material. This technique is considered one of the most promising analytical techniques for the quantification of peptides and intact proteins, including monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). Two stationary phases, C4 and C3 with 300 Å pore size columns, were tested in this investigation. The C4 column is in 250 × 4.6 mm dimension, while the C3 column is in 75 × 2.1 mm dimension. A 0.08 % TFA was added to the mobile phase as an ion-pairing reagent to control its acidity and column efficiency. Proteins standard solutions of BSA and OVA were prepared in 6 M urea as a denaturing agent to improve chromatographic efficiency. The optimum separation conditions were found under a flow rate 1.0 mL/min, injection volume 20 μL, column temperature 50°C, and a gradient profile: 0 to 10 min, % B: 25% to 80%, 10 to 20 min, % B: 80% to 100% with solvent B = 100% acetonitrile + 0.08% trifluoroacetic acid. Under these separation conditions, the percentage recovery of BSA protein from the stationary phase was found 100%, while only 90- 95% of OVA was recovered. A short alkyl chain column (30 x 4.6 mm) helped improve the recovery of OVA protein and reduced the separation run time of the method. Forced degradation studies were conducted under the optimum separation conditions to determine the stability of these two proteins under sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid, hydrogen peroxide, heat, and light. In addition, the developed method was validated to verify its specificity and robustness and confirm its high accuracy and precision. The validation results fulfilled the U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines (FDA).--
