They compare the number of events observed in the data with a data-based estimate of the standard model backgrounds contributing to this signature. They observe no significant excess of events, and they interpret this null result in terms of lower limits on the fundamental Planck scale for a large extra dimensions scenario.

We use a data sample of approximately 2.7fb^-1 of ppbar collisions at sqrt(s)= 1.96 TeV (recorded with the D0 detector) to investigate direct Kaluza Klein graviton production and set limits, at the 95% C.L., on the fundamental mass scale M_{D} from 970 to 816 GeV for two to eight extra dimensions.
