Now that the book is completed, I think I may say that what was promised in that preliminary notice has been pretty literally fulfilled. I have never indulged in exhortation or persuasion, but have left the declarations of Scripture, in so far as they have been assailed by science, in certain recent publications, to be also vindicated by science.
